the urban Farmhouse market & café (Shockoe Slip)

One star for the friendly barista. The food was the worst I’ve had in my 47 years. The chai tea was terrible as was hubbys coffee, both of us threw out full cups. That’s $14. I ordered farmhouse chicken salad sandwich and the only thing edible was the bread. “Grandmas” chicken salad was awful!!!! Blah!!! I literally ate the carrot sticks and a half slice of dry toast. The chicken and rice soup was ok but flavorless. He ordered the havarti cheese so they used something else… thanks for the heads up. So basically… the chairs were comfy. I’d love my $60 😳 back.

This place was so enjoyable during our stay in Richmond that we returned three separate times! We loved the open walls, and even sat at a table in one of these openings which was incredibly delightful and watched people out on the cobblestone street. Everyone working there was incredibly friendly, and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our food. We got the veggie sausage breakfast sandwiches which were reasonably priced. They made a simple yet beautiful presentation with sliced pear, apple, and orange. One of our favorite visits!

Arrived about 830 am on a Sunday and had to wait a quick 2 min in line then received an excellent iced carmel mocha via a couple of hardworking friendly staff who always double checked every order (that I saw) with the customers before making them. Will be returning to try their breakfast menu soon! :) Note: they have Wi-Fi, delicious looking made to order breakfast and lunch stuffs plus made to order juice, a variety of kids drinks and of course vegan and vegetarian food as well.

I have often waited 45 mins for a simple order that should be fired in 10, even when the place is empty. The food is decent but can come out cold and not worth the prices they charge. When you get things to-go, the boxes come with oily finger prints all over it. I would say you are paying for convenience but it isn't convenient. Overall, this place is way too expensive for the service/food.

Don't bother coming here for the food. The atmosphere is great but that's all they have going for them. However, if you like being ignored at the register by a worker then this is your place! It's really my fault though, sometimes my invisibility powers kick in by accident and people can't see me when I'm standing right in front of them. So it's understandable why the barista would try and take the order of the person next to me in line 😊

Very cosy place! We stayed there to rest on our way to North Carolina and we had such a great time! Thank you for having us and serving great coffee 👌😊

Not sure how this place doesn’t have 5 stars all around because it was great. The two guys working there were PHENOMENAL and I wish I had gotten their names. Great service, great selection of food and drinks and really cute inside. I will definitely be back!!

We had a delicious, home style breakfast in a quaint, but urban setting. Reasonable priced menu.
