Staff is very friendly, however I just waited over 30 minutes for a bacon egg and cheese bagel. I honestly don't know how long it would've took because I eventually just asked for them to cancel my order. 3 people working the counter. 2 were cooking, but mostly chatting and joking. Saw one of them nibbling on some food after they sent out 3 sandwiches so I said I'm not waiting anymore, especially for a $15 bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Save yourself some time and money.
Edited: All though I was not satisfied with my initial reaction, Urban Farmhouse has gone out of their way to make it right. They were always pleasant to deal with all though a bit on the pricey side of things as well as slow, they owne up to their mistakes and try to make it right. There were apparently issues of voiding and canceling my order a few weeks ago, and unfortunately was never refunded, however I received a call informing me they tried to do everything they could. They offered to let me get cash or a mailed check! I said just lemme get a free Sammy next time. The manager was very happy, and even offered to give me a little "extra", so I'm going to pop my head in for round 2, maybe bring a book, and see what Farmhouse actually has to offer.
+2 stars for good people running a good business. Let's just speed it up, or just not call it a Cafe!

A coworker recommended Urban Farmhouse and so a small group of us decided to try it out. I was kind of weary to try this place at first, thinking it would be too organic healthy for me to find something I'd like. I was wrong and the food was delicious!!! Lots of local wine and beer to purchase along the walls. Nice atmosphere in a pretty location. I will definitely return again for lunch next time I'm working in Richmond.

Fresh food. Plenty of light, healthy options. Good coffee and teas. Nice selection of local products.

Cozy atmosphere. I loved the natural lighting. Plenty of space to study individually or visit with a large group. All of their pastries were Gluten free. The hot dark cocoa was a small disappointment but overall great experience!

The food is always just okay, not great. Kinda overpriced too. I got steel cut oats with “fresh fruit” and it was just raisins and a couple orange slices. I expected more “fresh” fruit like berries. Raisins are not fresh fruit

Service was slow I stood at the register for a couple of minutes even though there was no one in line and multiple people behind the counter. I ordered a drink was looking around and sat down while waiting for my drink a few gentlemen came in and ordered they all received there drinks before I did and 1 of them ordered the same drink as I did. Really need to work on your customer service.

My wife and I eat here almost everytime we are in Richmond, which has been at least monthly for the past 6 months. Their breakfast scrambles are delicious, the french toast is great, and there is a decent beer selection. Coffee drinks can be a bit hit or miss. Overall though, a good place for a great breakfast or lunch in an informal, easy-going atmosphere.

Late night drop in for a warm drink, some reading space, and a chance to just chill. Loved the relaxed vibe and the homey feel of the place. My latte was alright, a bit overpriced for the quality. I️ would come back again for a treat every once in a while.

Stopped here to get coffee after a long day in Carytown and it was the perfect oasis. Latte was great. Aesthetic is wonderful, and the views of the town are so romantic. Glad we stopped by!

I’m glad they survived the pandemic.. lots of local places like this did not make it. The service here has always been pretty slow, but I’d say it’s worth checking out for the ambiance.. the food is great, love the sandwiches .. they have a nice selection of kombuchas and gluten free deserts. I usually avoid this place because it’s kind of pricey(most places downtown are) but I’m glad they are still around bc Shockoe Slip wouldn’t be the same without it.
