Nice little coffee shop that has really interesting specialty latte flavors! The atmosphere is cozy and well decorated and the staff is friendly for the most part. Their biscuit breakfast sandwiches were very tasty and well made.
We decided to try their very pricey specialty lattes and even though they were good, they were not worth $9 especially when they were served in small paper to-go cups instead of ceramic mugs, which is what brought us to this place from the fancy pictures. Other than that everything was great and if we lived in the area this would definitely be one of our top coffee shops.

I had a few hours before catching a plane in Richmond so I decided to explore one of the coffee shops. Ironclad is a former firehouse and one of the most charming cafés I’ve been to in the US. The music, staff and decor set a great mood. I read about the macadamia nut milk latte so decided to try that. It was smooth. A little sweet for my taste but I enjoyed it. From tables on two levels to couches and the bar, there are several good options on where to sit. I grabbed a table on the second floor and enjoyed the ambiance while doing a little work on my laptop. It was a good find to end my trip in Richmond.

Great coffee shop that I didn't even know existed. Had a work meeting here so decided to try their specialty Vermont Sugarmaker that was smoked and came with a side of candied bacon (can't say no to bacon!) and tried their bacon egg and cheese biscuit. I was shocked by how good and big the biscuit was! Watching the employees create my drink was pretty cool, especially when they put it into the glass box to add the smoke flavor (great smell of burning wood as if you were sitting by a campfire, but not an overpowering smell). While the prices seemed a bit higher than I was expecting (it was a work meeting so I wasn't concerned) I will probably go back, especially for the breakfast biscuit and to try a normal/standard brew. Highly recommend.

Ironclad is a cool unique coffee house. There is a lot of cool seating. Couches, small tables on a loft inside. There is also a lot of outdoor seating. I had an iced chai it was very good. The customer service was great. I really liked the main entrance the couches and the piano were a nice touch. I'm not sure if you're allowed to play the piano but if you are that would be even cooler.

Stopped by on our way home to grab some coffee and was drawn in by house cool this place looks! I usually go for an iced oat milk mocha but they had so many creative intriguing drinks. I ordered the brown butter chocolate chip cookie milk latte and it was amazing. It was yummy without loosing the flavor of coffee, wanna know how they got it to taste like a cookie! Will definitely stop by again on our way back up.

Weird.. when I’m here my hat was gone and I was wearing a beret with a casual suit. The seasonal brown butter chocolate chip cookie milk latte made me forget every to-do list I have today. Save your coffee cravings for this shop and invite a friend to join you to take credit for having great taste in coffee shops. 6/5 stars

Old, historic building is an amazing place to have this comfy and aesthetically pleasing coffee shop! Huge wooden piano and couches as a centerpiece; marble tables for coffee roasting in the center, with tables upstairs for sitting. Only downside is that they don’t have WiFi (they claim they turn it off on the weekends) and they don’t have power outlets for laptops to plug in to, so it is not a good location to do long-term computer work or anything requiring WiFi.

The best coffee we had in Richmond by far this time. Highly recommend their specialty drinks, just make sure to choose their macadamia milk. We also had the bext egg and cheese sandwich. The biscuit stole the show and was the most delicious we ever had.

What a delightful coffee cafe to stumble upon! I had The Hygge which was a smoked coffee - almost like performance art with the smoking chamber. The entire cafe was bright and happy, and very festively decorated for the season. Staff was delightful and helpful. Can't wait to come back!

The ambiance is very cozy. Think good shop for a first date. Not too loud but enough people to not be the only ones talking.
The food was disappointing. They didn’t have breakfast sandwiches when we got there so all they had left was a blueberry muffin and a spinach and feta crossaint. Neither of which hit the spot for me. The coffee was nice but I was disappointed after the disappointing start with the pastries.
I had the hygge and my wife had the molasses late which were both good.
All in all I probably wouldn’t go again, but that is because of what I want from a coffee shop. The coffee was good but I wanted a nice little breakfast at a cute spot but what I got was a snack and a coffee.
