I love the smell of freshly roasted coffee beans, and this coffee shop has a great selection of coffees to choose from. The staff was also very hospitable, which is always a plus. And the music was a nice touch.
I'm especially impressed with their signature drink . It's a difficult drink to get right, but it seemed like this coffee shop has mastered it.
Will certainly stop by again when in Richmond!

What a charming (not so) little coffee shop! The interior is gorgeously decorated with little tidbits of Richmond history. The coffee is delicious and you have to try a speciality drink during the holidays! If you can get one, their baked goods sell out rather quickly, but for VERY good reason. The coffee cake and the spinach & feta croissant are something else… outta this world!

What an awesome little cafe, both for the vibe and the quality of the espresso. If I’m not mistaken this appears to be an old firehouse converted into a really cool space. Lots of detail to admire, and the espresso was up to snuff. Viscous, chocolately and a nice crema. No soy or skim today which was fine. Whole milk latte was solid. Bravo!

gorgeous atmosphere, EXCELLENT coffee (they didn’t have almond milk so i got a macadamia nut latte - it was delicious and probably my new favorite thing) and i liked the biscuit sandwich that i got as well

The worst part about this place is that it is not in my home town I would be a regular. My breakfast burrito was freshly made, delicious and reasonably priced. Coffee (black) was excellent. This is in a old firehouse, very cool.

The staff is always friendly here and their specialty drinks are pretty fancy. Their drip coffee is delicious too. This time, I got the sweet potato cappuccino and it was good but not worth the price. Wish there were more seating! The ambiance is wonderful here!

Just a great, quiet and relaxing place for great coffee drinks and awesome homemade baked goods and pastries (get there early or they'll be gone). Check out the Fb page for what they got going on. How good is it you may ask... drive 47 miles to patronize

Amazing. I’m always on the hunt for local spots that are great and Ironclad fit the bill. Service was fast and friendly. Coffee was strong and tasty. My biscuit was delicious. Talked with one of the baristas for a min between her slinging drinks and she offered a Richmond newbie several different local eateries that she enjoyed. Highly recommended.
So I’ve kept my original review and am updating to a one star based on todays experience. They were so rude. One of the counter girls got mad because I mentioned I couldn’t understand her with her mask on. The attitude was not professional. Get better. I most likely won’t be back and it’s a shame bc it’s a good place minus the attitude. They also artificially delayed my drinks and we’re chatting with ‘regulars’ instead of busting orders out.

One of my fav coffee spots in RVA. The atmosphere, service, coffee, and pastries are excellent. You pay for what you get. This is definitely a must when living or traveling through Richmond.

The food. The decor. This was so delicious. Their breakfast biscuits are so amazing and delicious. The place wants to make you stay for as long as possible. Top place in this area for coffee and breakfast!!
