Green pozole was 🔥 I also had the Baja fish taco that was delicious. Great drinks and had a great server.

We each tried three tacos: carnitas, al pastor, and chicken tinga. They came with tiny pieces of lime, but no salsa. The meat was dry and desperately needed salsa or some kind of moisture - no red or green salsa was provided. The kids menu quesadilla was not warm and the cheese had hardened inside a cold tortilla, so we didn't eat it. It came with a side of unripe melon that was inedible for any human (child or adult). It looks like many people in Evanston enjoy the food at La Principal, but it left us disappointed.

Ordered the EMT tonight. It is supposed to feed 4 - we had 3 people - one of whom is a 19 year old male - and we have almost 1/2 left over for tomorrow. It was delicious and a steal for the price. We will definitely be ordering on another Tuesday - and telling all of our friends. Also, it was really easy to donate a meal to someone in need when placing our order. Thanks for giving back to the community.

I had the chicken tinga tacos and they by far were the best I ever had. The rice was the long grain and done perfectly but the beans, outstanding so much flavor. Lunch special $10.00. 2 tacos rice/beans. HOME RUN, can’t wait to bring the wife and come back!!!

Good Mexican street food. Everything we had (tacos, chips, guac, salsa, Margaritas) were all quite good. The drinks are a little pricey compared to your standard Mexican price level, but given the limited menu, that's probably how they make the rent. Good happy hour - $2 off the pricey Margaritas and $2 tacos. The menu is limited, so don't expect to come here for your full Mexican (and those of you who knew this as Lupita's before she retired know what I'm talking about). A cute drinks and snacks spot, but not somewhere I'd go for full dinner.

Recently visited here during their happy hour from 3-6 on weekdays. Can't wait to return! Excellent food and service! All the tacos are so fresh and delicious, and the margaritas are some of the best I have ever had anywhere!

One of the best taco joints in Evanston. Excellent variety of Mexican favorites from food to beverages. Be sure to give their Pineapple Habanero sauce a try as you will quickly become addicted like I did. So happy they are offering take out and pick up while the dine in remains closed.

Amazing food. I got the lunch special, which was 2 tacos of your choice with rice and beans for around $10. Food is gourmet Mexican style but doesn't lose the roots of classic Mexican food as so many 'Mexican' restaurants do. Delicious and delightful experience!

Pretty snazzy place. Definitely would bring a date here. The food is pricey but tasty. I describe the tacos as hipster tacos which are not traditional tacos but still delicious however more money than they should be. If you find yourself here, you must get the churro. It's so good! That's worth the trip alone if you live in the area.

We've always enjoyed our visits here. The pork tacos are delicious as are the sandwiches. Again, the pork is a winner!

A bit pricey though. For three of us and one margarita, it ended up being a hundred bucks with tip. This did include elotes and dessert, to be fair. But be warned. Things have a way of adding up.

That said, it's a great new place that's definitely worth visiting!
