Backlot Coffee

The Herbie might be the world’s best breakfast sandwich. The combination of flavors with added bacon couldn’t get any better. The staff at Backlot were friendly and super helpful to a first timer like me. When I return to Evanston Backlot will be my first stop.

Great atmosphere the moment you walk in. Tons of pastries, merch, and goodies on display before you reach the menu and register. The lavender latte was delicious and so was the sweet potato fajita empanada. The empanada was actually my favorite out of the two items I got. I then hung out for 1.5hrs doing work on my laptop before going to work. Free Wifi too! I will be back for sure!

i love this shop!! i got the lavender latte and it was lovely. they make their lavender syrup in house. i also ordered the espresso cookie and it was super good! great place to do online work!

This is such a cool place. I just got coffee and a donut and both were delicious, I think the Donuts were Do-Rite which makes great donuts. They had alot of other things I wanted to try so I will be back. Its really cute inside, the service was really fast and also very nice. Get there early if you want to sit inside, I went Monday at 10a and it was packed.

Excellent lattes, pastries, and one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had (The classic). Amazing staff and ambiance as well. Love this place!

My girlfriend and I go to Backlot almost weekly because they have both gluten free and vegan options for our food allergies and they have never disappointed in the espresso realm either. Love the warm, welcoming aura of the staff ❤️

Their chorizo egg empanadas are delicious. The coffee tastes great. I loved their vegan maple donut. The staff is really nice. I go out my way to get something good at Backlot.

Great coffee and atmosphere. Lots of gluten free options - all sandwiches can be made on gf bread for a small upcharge, plus other grab and go options like yogurt parfaits. And the cinnamon sugar donut was one of the best gf baked goods I’ve had. It was huge and I DEVOURED it. Not a ton of lunch options beyond the egg sandwiches, but that didn’t bother me.

Popular local coffee shop, plenty of bakery goods to choose, coffee and tea, and breakfast sandwiches, I usually get the central street burrito and it’s very good, my life likes their chai latte.
It’s a clean place, family friendly, plenty of seats and tables, parking outside

I moved away almost a year ago and I still have dreams about Backlot’s coffee. I’ve always said if I won the lottery the first thing I’d do is see if John would open a Backlot in my hometown in Colorado. Backlot never disappoints!! Best coffee and breakfast around.
