The hotel is old, but well maintained and has interesting history. Right by the hot springs. Disappointed not to have a coffee maker in the room for the price per night. Also, the bathroom door in room 449 does not shut or lock. There's a Cafe downstairs where you can buy coffee and a quick pastry or yogurt and fruit parfait. Staff is friendly and check in was easy. The lobby is big and has lots of antiques. The halls are big. The rooms are pretty average in size, fine for a couple's stay. The room has pull down blinds and steam radiator to add warmth. The radiator is loud though.

What a wonderful experience. This hotel is a charming historic building and the staff is so friendly. We loved the hotel so much we spent most of our time here. There are numerous places to sit and relax. My husband and daughter asked the front desk for card games and they lent us a couple to sit and play together. I loved the Grand staircases and huge hallways. You just don't see this kind of architecture anymore. We stayed in a room with a sitting area/ space which was so great for spending time together. This place was so great and I will definitely come back. We loved it.

My wife and I recently stayed here for a little weekend getaway and this place was awesome. I do wish there was access to the corridor balconies especially since it was just before Christmas. I’ve always heard and read stories about paranormal things going on here but we weren’t lucky enough to get the chance to experience any of it. The Christmas lights were amazing and the whole place was beautifully decorated. Hotel staff were hospitable and pleasant. Such a great piece of history to have the opportunity to visit and explore. There is so much to do nearby as well. Pssst…. hot springs

What a cool old hotel with mixed amenities. The flowering tree I. The courtyard smelled so fresh and sweet. They turned on the fire pit for us and it was delightful. Our room was perfect and when asked they brought a full Kuerig coffee set up. We had break fast in the dining room and the eggs Benedict were delicious. Excellent responsive service and a delightful stay!

The Hotel is very interesting. Across the street is town and within a block of the hotel are hot springs. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. There is a nice outside area to sit and eat or have drinks. I would stay here again for sure. And they allow pets!

    Stay Where Presidents Stay

I have stayed at Hotel Colorado many times and I keep going back because it's always such a pleasant and memorable experience. The staff is attentive, kind and professional. The rooms are classy and well kept. The architecture is inspiring and uplifting and the dining experience also delightful. And the proximity, adjacent to the famous and wonderful hot springs, is just so convenient. It's also nice being at the footbridge across the Colorado River which I cross over several times a day to walk or shop or to dine at one of a dozen options within a half mile of the hotel.

One highlight for me was staying with my father in the Roosevelt Suite where Teddy Roosevelt stayed in 1905 when we was on a bear hunt in the area. (President Taft stayed at Hotel Colorado as well.)

The hotel is a wonderful place where time travel and luxury come together for a memorable time of relaxation and reflection.

    I LOVE HOTEL COLORADO!

Went for a work party. The building is gorgeous, the views are just amazing and the staff is great. My one little bit pick is: the room decor. The building has a lot of history and I feel the decor could have worked with that more. The modern aesthetic is well executed but it seems a shame not to lean into the rich history of the building.

Older rooms without mini fridge or microwave but the room was clean and well maintained. Beds were really soft. Steam radiator took some getting use to setting at a comfortable temp as well. Food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and professional

    Angel is an absolute Angel!
We were only in Glenwood Springs for one night and had been so excited to stay at the historic Hotel Colorado for the first time. We couldn’t find any rooms with 2 beds online so we crossed our fingers and decided to try at the front desk. We were immediately met by Angels sweet smile who welcomed us at the desk. We were traveling with our daughter (who was fully prepared to make a fort on the floor) and Angel worked tirelessly to find a room that would accommodate our family. She went above and beyond and found the most gorgeous room for us…and our daughter didn’t have to make a fort! She shared the hotel history with us and got us even more excited to get to stay there. She truly made our stay happen and made it a fun family memory we will never forget! Thank you so much Angel!

As a 30 year former Glenwood springs resident, I returned for a visit of friends. I had always enjoyed the ambience of the Hotel and booked two nights with hope that they had remodeled or were in progress. The fact that is was still in very SLOW process, was NOT said during my over the phone reservation!
A disappointment for sure. I love vintage hotels, but clearly not ready for a $ 300 a nite( online advertised price no where in sight)
The employees are fantastic. Every one was great.
Miserable linens and beds, which is the principle reason one needs a hotel! Right?
Carpet, and other furniture sure needs cleaned.
The Christmas display which I LOVE and have visited dozens of times, looks like it hasn't been dusted since I was a kid!
Consider this when making your hotel choice.
