Hotel was great but Angle went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. If it were not for her customer service and problem solving skills we would have had a very poor experience. Thank you Angle!

Angel at the front desk was very friendly and helpful
We asked for a tour of the Devereux room and she was very accommodating
We like the renovations and that the new owners still allow doggies !
JoyAnne gave us a tour (so friendly)

Hotel was very helpful and accommodating when our train was late. Very good restaurant though service was very slow. All staff were helpful and accommodating particularly our driver Thomas. He definitely went above and beyond to help us get around. Loved all the history and old fashioned atmosphere. Really enjoyable to just sit in the lobby or out by the fountain. Loved the walking access to the tourist part of town.

A Beautiful Historic Hotel! You can spend hours in the lobby alone reading the history and feeling like you are right there in the past. A very relaxed and comfortable lobby sits at the base of a gorgeous grand staircase. The Courtyard is your Gateway to Glenwood Springs which is so conveniently accessible via the Pedestrian Bridge across the street. Overlooking the Hot Spring Pools, you will appreciate an evening adventure to see the colorful lights, steam, and stillness of the pools. The rooms were simple but comfortable. The staff were friendly and courteous. The restaurants were decent and on point for an expectation of Hotel Accompaniments. The only complaint is lacking the convenience of a lobby coffee bar or a guest use microwave. We enjoyed our stay and without hesitation will return again and recommend the Hotel Colorado!

Nope- I was so excited to stay at this historic hotel I have seen since my childhood coming up to the hot spring. The reviews were favorable and most Glenwood hotels have quirks. When I found out the hot springs has its own hotel with free admission I tried to cancel my reservation. The operator was very convincing and got me a better rate and a package that included hot spring admissions. When we arrived the hotel lobby is full of old school charm. But when you get to your floor you realize why they didn’t want you to cancel. I had NO idea they were doing renovations still- it was not disclosed. When we got to our floor not only does it look like a haunted hotel with sparsely decorated hallways we noticed everything was covered in plastic and the rooms across from us were all missing numbers. Inside our room there is a letter about construction from 8am-6pm!!! OMG. The room is clean and mostly new except the furniture. They are upgrading and I’ll give them that. They need to enlist a designer. I live in a 100 year old house so I’m used to all this but I feel they are falling short of the hotel’s potential and history. Bare white walls and 1980s furnishings do not equal a $260 + a night hotel. The bathroom is a piecemeal of multiple attempts at renovations. I was scared out of my mind now that it truly felt like a spooky hotel and all the rooms around me were vacant!! The next day when I got back to take a nap… an air compressor was going off every five minutes and dust from dry wall sanding was EVERYWHERE. Contractors everywhere, being gross using the bathroom with the doors open and yelling at each other. Why wouldn’t you do a whole floor at a time. This is nuts. I wanted to love this place but steer clear till all the renovations are done.. and make sure you call and ask. However- most of the staff is terrific and the restaurant was excellent esp out on the lovely patio. Kids breakfasts were exceptional. I complained before I left and told I’d receive a further discount- nothing yet. I also wrote to the manager and have never heard back.

Recently, we spent four nights and days at Hotel Colorado, in Glenwood Springs, which we chose because of its historical significance and because it is located within minutes of the Amtrak Station and also the world's largest hot thermal pool, and also because it is locally owned and operated, and not owned by a "chain". Upon arriving at the Amtrak Station, we were grateful to see the Hotel Colorado Shuttle Van waiting for us, especially as it had started to rain. During our stay, all of the staff, from the reception desk, to the bartenders at the beautiful outdoor bar to the housekeeping staff, were gracious and welcoming. As we are interested in history and historical preservation, I had many questions, and the kind women at the front desk, Sydni and Danielle, gave to me a very informative print out of the history of this fine hotel. It was also explained, to what lengths the current owners have gone, to restore this hotel to its original glory, even finding hidden fireplaces and restoring original wooden floors. What a treasure this hotel is! The ambience is wonderful, and we will treasure our memories of staying at this fine hotel, with its welcoming staff.

What a beautiful gem, nestled in the peaks of the Rockies!! This old town has lots of history, much of which took place within the walls of the Hotel Colorado. At one point, known as "the western White House", Teddy Roosevelt spent quite a bit of his time here. With pictures and stories or sculptures to cute your will learn lots about one of Americas greatest presidents. It also happens to be the birth place of what we now know as "the teddy bear" and many other neat bits of history.
The property is beautiful with gorgeous flowers hanging from every awning; it's quite the spectacle. In the summer months the restaurant is hosted on the patio during the evenings and inside for breakfasts.
The layout is spacious and reminiscent of an older time when cramming as many rooms as you can into a building wasn't a thing.. The only downside I can speak of is there is no refrigerator in your room, so you can't bring perishables or keep a cold drink.
If you're a history buff or just want to experience a regal old building, this is the place to go!
The service was top notch our wait staff was phenomenal. We will be back for sure!

We were so excited to stay here. I had emailed the hotel and had some questions before we arrived, and I never got a response from them. The rooms are tiny!!! Not really suitable for a family of 5. The jack and Jill bathroom is a joke. So so small. They leave the windows open in the hotel which feels nice for the cool mountain air but we had bugs in our room. The coffee shop other reviewers talk about is temporarily closed. Not impressed, wish we would have stayed somewhere else!!!!!!!

The Christmas season has traditionally been an excellent experience at Hotel Colorado and this year is no different. This huge hotel is decorated almost everywhere. There must be 50 decorated trees, animatronic vignette, decorations and fireplaces. Tomorrow will be the lighting celebration will choirs, local leaders, and varied events. Lots of food and hospitality. This is a must Christmas experience. Come to Glenwood to enjoy and take a dip in the hot springs pool across the street to put a cherry on the top.

My wife and I had a great stay at the hotel. It’s staff is absolutely top notch, they are service minded to the highest degree. The food was great, the room was nice, and enjoyed learning about the history of the place too.
We had our wedding reception in the Colorado room, it hosted 80 people comfortably. The food was great, and again top notch service. Thanks to Kristen our coordinator for all her quick service!
