Sunrise Cafe
Review of Sunrise Cafe
Sunrise Cafe is a local restaurant and cafe located at 194 US-101 in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. With a primary focus on serving breakfast and brunch, this establishment offers a simple menu without too much excitement. The cafe is open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM every day of the week, making it a convenient spot for early risers and brunch enthusiasts.
Customers have mixed reviews about the food at Sunrise Cafe. Some rave about the delicious dishes and great service they received, while others have had less favorable experiences. The menu features classic breakfast items such as bacon, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. The bacon is particularly praised for its exceptional taste, and the hubcap-sized pancakes are a hit among pancake enthusiasts. However, some customers have found the food to be mediocre, with undercooked eggs, soggy hash browns, and average-tasting burgers.
Aside from the food, the service at Sunrise Cafe has been a point of discussion among patrons. While some have had positive interactions with friendly and attentive staff, others have encountered issues such as dirty tables, missing silverware, and forgotten toast. It's worth noting that the cleanliness of the establishment has also been a concern for some customers.
Despite the mixed reviews, Sunrise Cafe continues to attract customers with its affordable prices and generous portions. The cafe has a casual and laid-back atmosphere, although some visitors have described it as lacking in ambiance. If you're in the mood for a no-frills breakfast or brunch, Sunrise Cafe might be worth a visit.

The sign on the building says “open 7 days a week” it is not. Banner on building says “dine in and Delivery” they do not deliver. Hours posted on Google not correct. Hours on Facebook are different and not correct. We are in town for business and they do not serve dinner and were not open Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Monday is posted as closed but not the other 2 days? Maybe they should take the time to accurately post there operating hours. Finally got to eat there food on Thursday and wish they had been closed so I would not have waisted my money. Not good food. Very greasy with no seasoning what so ever. Too bad because the Cowbell was pretty good for a small town cafe.
I see the response from Sunrise Cafe mentioned Covid as a reason for their restaurant issues. I find that kind of response unsettling and a convenient excuse. I have been to several other restaurants in and around Rockaway, leaving favorable reviews, and they all seem to have correct posted hours and services offered. I do understand having to modify your hours and services due to COVID. All businesses have, but Covid cannot be the reason for poor food or wrong business info (BTW, after all this your hours on Google were not corrected). As far as treating other restaurants this way, my reviews are based on my experience at the business I am reviewing and that’s all.

Place to to go order and was told 15 to 20 minutes to make an omelet. They come back out after a 1/2 an hour and asked me what I had ordered again. Then had to wait even more time for them to actually make my food. No apology or anything to make it right

Conveniently located, we walked from our friends beach house a few blocks away. Went inside and there were no tables available for our family of 4. I told my Daughter that they must be good since they were full. We patiently waited for a table to open, and after about 5 minutes one became available. But no one came to clear it, so we still waited thinking they would come by soon to clean it for us. But no one did. Then another table opened up, and another. Eventually 2 tables got partially cleared of dishes. At this point I decided to get up from the waiting area and stand where I could be clearly seen waiting, hoping they would acknowledge us. Nope, I stood there for over 5 minutes, and no one said one word to us or attempted to finish clearing the tables. After waiting for almost 20 minutes, we left.

We had a very nice breakfast on our last day in Rockaway Beach. Katelynn T. was a wonderful server - full of energy, friendly, and prompt. She appeared to be serving the entire dining room and was doing a great job helping everybody!

This is a tough one. The food was good, a four plus. Today is Monday, and every other Cafe in town was closed. Really, it's high tourist season!!!!! The server was serving the whole restaurant, and trying to keep up.Doing an admirable job, but someone who could have helped, Emma, spent most of her time sitting at a table with friends occasionally folding napkins and silver. We were concerned we might not make the train. Service two with an asterisk.

They are trying to sell the place so maybe that's why food was not the best. Bacon tasted old and warmed up, hashbrowns were not crunchy, eggs were good.

I ordered 3 hamburgers to go. There was about a 10 minute wait for them and then I was on my way. The food was very good and the people that served me were extremely friendly and accommodating.

I think the food was better before they closed and reopened. We stayed across the street and had Dinner and Breakfast from there. The burgers were cremated/charred to death and the Pizza was an afterthought. The 2 massive TV's playing Fox News was also a detractor since the channel is basically hate speech.
