Review of Sunrise Cafe
Sunrise Cafe is a local restaurant and cafe located at 194 US-101 in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. With a primary focus on serving breakfast and brunch, this establishment offers a simple menu without too much excitement. The cafe is open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM every day of the week, making it a convenient spot for early risers and brunch enthusiasts.
Customers have mixed reviews about the food at Sunrise Cafe. Some rave about the delicious dishes and great service they received, while others have had less favorable experiences. The menu features classic breakfast items such as bacon, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. The bacon is particularly praised for its exceptional taste, and the hubcap-sized pancakes are a hit among pancake enthusiasts. However, some customers have found the food to be mediocre, with undercooked eggs, soggy hash browns, and average-tasting burgers.
Aside from the food, the service at Sunrise Cafe has been a point of discussion among patrons. While some have had positive interactions with friendly and attentive staff, others have encountered issues such as dirty tables, missing silverware, and forgotten toast. It's worth noting that the cleanliness of the establishment has also been a concern for some customers.
Despite the mixed reviews, Sunrise Cafe continues to attract customers with its affordable prices and generous portions. The cafe has a casual and laid-back atmosphere, although some visitors have described it as lacking in ambiance. If you're in the mood for a no-frills breakfast or brunch, Sunrise Cafe might be worth a visit.

This was absolutely the worst place I’ve ever been on the coast, how could anyone give them 4 stars? 3 waitresses and 2 cooks for them to not only forget half our meal but forget allergens (no cheese Or tomatoes) and it’s not like they were crazy busy and forgot. Thank god I didn’t get a sandwich because everyone I saw come out was burnt crusted. Loved that my table was wobbly and spilled my coffee luckily there was zero napkins in the dispenser. Can this place close and a good coffee shop open up??

The burgers are delicious! Grass get beef cooked to order and so juicy yummmm! The restaurant is clean and the staff work hard to make you feel like your home. Great place to eat!

used to be the best breakfast place I've ever eaten at with a fantastic chicken fried steak and the best cooked hash browns. it has since then changed ownership and has no chicken fried steak and no hash browns, the biscuits and gravy was like eating a brick with lousy Brown gravy. I think they called it country gravy but it was not. I will likely never returned it's too bad because I always looked forward to going there

Friendly but poor service. We got our food and it took another 15min to get or 1/2 order biscuits and gravy. A lot of just waiting, we finally had to walk up to the counter and ask them for it. We then saw them pull the biscuits out of a freezer bag and warm then up in a microwave. Not good for for the price, but sizing ok.

A great little restaurant, with all of the usuals you would expect from the atmosphere! Good food at a good price, and very friendly staff! I would definitely go there for breakfast again! =^.^=

Excellent breakfast. We had french toast, bacon, and pancakes to go. Took it back to our room to watch the beach. Besides it being well made, the portions were large and included plenty of high quality syrup and real butter. The bacon was thick cut and done just right.

Went there for breakfast this morning because we didn't wanna drive a hour to go to pig n pancake.
We walked in to find there was no seating available, which wasn't a problem for us to wait. But after looking around we saw there a couple tables that had their cards on their table with the check ready to pay but the waitresses kept walking right past them. After about ten min both takes finally called their waitresses over so they could pay but both were told to walk to the back of the restaurant to pay.
Once the parties left the bus boy came out to clean off the tables for the next party to be seated. As soon as he got to the table the waitress came over to the table and yelled at him to hurry up....
We had a three year old in our party and wasn't asked if we wanted a high chair or a booster seat. So we have to go find one and carry it back to our table. As well as two other couples did.
When seated and ready to take our order the waitress sat down on the bench next to us to take our order and when a couple made their order the waitress looked at them and asked them if they were sure and if that was all they were ordering in a tone that suggested we shouldn't have ordered that and that we should've ordered more food.
After 45 min went by the first order of food came out and the waitress had stacked a plate of hash browns on top of a plate of pancakes so that the bottom of the plate was touching the food.
Two of us ordered two off the specials (the farmers special) and weren't impressed at all with the food, the bacon was cooked as hard as a rock and the eggs were like they had just popped out of the hen they were so under cooked.
Overall, I would say we won't be returning to this restaurant again.

Service was. Eh. The only good thing we had was the roast and that was even iffy. My toast was burnt and my girlfriends toast wasn't even cooked at all, it was just bread. All of the ingredients were burnt but the egg of the omelette was undercooked and raw. The food was edible. Not good at. I really wouldn't recomend this place. The dishes were dirty and old. The floors in the dining area were disgusting. I could go on. It just felt like an old un-taken care of place.

First time I went we were treated well, however, my Denver omelette was dripping with oil. The food quality was on par with what you would expect from a local diner. It was good enough that we went back the next morning. This is were things turned sour. When we walked in all but 4 tables were taken. We waited by the front and didn't get as much as a hello. We sat our selfs down, and a friendly man cleaned the tables and gave us our menus. We proceeded to wait for 15 minutes without anyone coming to us to ask for waters, etc. We ended up leaving. Bottom line is I recommend eating here when it isn't packed.
