Review of Sunrise Cafe
Sunrise Cafe is a local restaurant and cafe located at 194 US-101 in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. With a primary focus on serving breakfast and brunch, this establishment offers a simple menu without too much excitement. The cafe is open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM every day of the week, making it a convenient spot for early risers and brunch enthusiasts.
Customers have mixed reviews about the food at Sunrise Cafe. Some rave about the delicious dishes and great service they received, while others have had less favorable experiences. The menu features classic breakfast items such as bacon, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. The bacon is particularly praised for its exceptional taste, and the hubcap-sized pancakes are a hit among pancake enthusiasts. However, some customers have found the food to be mediocre, with undercooked eggs, soggy hash browns, and average-tasting burgers.
Aside from the food, the service at Sunrise Cafe has been a point of discussion among patrons. While some have had positive interactions with friendly and attentive staff, others have encountered issues such as dirty tables, missing silverware, and forgotten toast. It's worth noting that the cleanliness of the establishment has also been a concern for some customers.
Despite the mixed reviews, Sunrise Cafe continues to attract customers with its affordable prices and generous portions. The cafe has a casual and laid-back atmosphere, although some visitors have described it as lacking in ambiance. If you're in the mood for a no-frills breakfast or brunch, Sunrise Cafe might be worth a visit.

I love supporting small businesses.
Had a spontaneous drive to the coast and I stopped here for some grub.
I love me some clam chowder and it was very good, hearty and tasty.
Wife grabbed a burger and she loved it along with the fries.
Other than a small staff today, I recommend the stop!

Waitress was friendly. We were seated at a dirty table, which she came and wiped down after serving our drinks. We had to ask for silverware after being served. My daughter never received her toast. We weren’t checked on during our meal for me to remind her of this. She did take off $1 for the missing toast when I told her at the register. Sausage and bacon were good, hash browns too. Eggs had a weird taste and pancakes were not that great. There was a vinegar or lemon smell - like they were souring milk rather than using actual buttermilk? Not sure. My view of a light fixture towards the back was really gross looking - like a thousand dead bugs inside? Our waitress was also eating a plate of food behind the counter, pulling her mask up and down. Not sure handwashing is even performed at all here. Touching your face and eating are both indications for washing your hands in food service - a long standing rule even before covid. We wouldn’t choose this place again.

2nd visit here, 1st time was lunch and this time was breakfast.
At lunch here a few months ago while in town had a couple issues with lunch in the order being correct. Lunch requests were mixed up on 4 of the 7 meals. Lunch food is mediocre.
I thought I'd give it a second chance and ordered breakfast this time. Sadly to say, we were not impressed. Sausage was great!
Hashbrowns were not fully cooked, sourdough toast seemed not toasted at all and very soft. Eggs were a little burnt, kids weren't impressed by pancakes. They were out of gravy and I had still requested a biscuit, Kayla was nice and offered an extra sausage in lue of no gravy, but back home and didn't have a biscuit 😔. I called and they offered to come back and grab, however when feeding kiddos is too much to drive back down. If ordering to go, make sure you have all of your order before leaving.
Not a place I would currently recommend.

If I could give a 3.5 I would. We usually have an ok experience here. The breakfast food is nothing special, but its good, and the prices are fine. That being said, last time we went we didn't have the best service (there were only two other tables occupied when we arrived, so it's not like they were overrun) and my omelette was pretty undercooked. But, who knows, maybe they were having an off day!

Haven't been to the cow bell in a few years.
I had the best chicken fried steak.
Still as of today I have not found one as good.
Hope the cow bell still make the chicken steak the same way not Frozen.

One of the best burgers I have tasted in a while. Very filling, they serve real beef and bacon, definitely worth the wait. I also liked the crispy coating on the fries. The waitstaff was nice. I'm glad that I stopped here and would recommend it to a friend.

The food was fine, but not great. The service was fine, but not great. I had fries with my meal and they were overdone to the point of being very crispy. The prices were okay but I would have expected better quality for a $9 sandwich, the turkey in my sandwich was very thin sliced and not great quality. The omelette had ham deli meat in it instead of cut ham chunks, which was a little surprising for my friend. It is very likely they have some dishes that are their specialties or that with judicious ordering you can get a good meal for a decent price, we just weren't that lucky.

Amazing service? Amazing food and it was less than $30 for a family of 4. The bacon was HUGE!!

Huge portions, good food, good staff. Whenever we go to a new town, we check out google reviews and yelp. This had some mixed reviews but the pictures others posted enticed me to give it an honest shot. It turned out we really liked our meal and service. The only thing I had any issues with was there were multiple ceiling tiles that were stained... Not a big deal, just looked gross. The price was great. I am a big guy and the Farmers breakfast was more than I could eat. We will definitely eat hear again.
