Review of Sunrise Cafe
Sunrise Cafe is a local restaurant and cafe located at 194 US-101 in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. With a primary focus on serving breakfast and brunch, this establishment offers a simple menu without too much excitement. The cafe is open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM every day of the week, making it a convenient spot for early risers and brunch enthusiasts.
Customers have mixed reviews about the food at Sunrise Cafe. Some rave about the delicious dishes and great service they received, while others have had less favorable experiences. The menu features classic breakfast items such as bacon, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. The bacon is particularly praised for its exceptional taste, and the hubcap-sized pancakes are a hit among pancake enthusiasts. However, some customers have found the food to be mediocre, with undercooked eggs, soggy hash browns, and average-tasting burgers.
Aside from the food, the service at Sunrise Cafe has been a point of discussion among patrons. While some have had positive interactions with friendly and attentive staff, others have encountered issues such as dirty tables, missing silverware, and forgotten toast. It's worth noting that the cleanliness of the establishment has also been a concern for some customers.
Despite the mixed reviews, Sunrise Cafe continues to attract customers with its affordable prices and generous portions. The cafe has a casual and laid-back atmosphere, although some visitors have described it as lacking in ambiance. If you're in the mood for a no-frills breakfast or brunch, Sunrise Cafe might be worth a visit.

Fast friendly service and one of the best burgers on the North Oregon Coast: grass-fed local ground beef, home made, served with crispy golden fries.
Their signature Beach Burger is a large paddy and the burger is bursting with: fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onion, ham, bacon, and local Tillamook Cheddar Cheese!
Breakfast & lunch served all day; Open 7-days per week. Conveniently located right across the street from the beach! On the main drive next to all the shops too!

Stopped in for dinner and got the fish and chips. Excellent. Best fries I’ve had in a long time. Staff was helpful and attentive. Only complaint was that it looked like the floors hadn’t been mopped in months.... meh. 🤷♀️

Best fluffy pancakes, mine had blueberry baked inside this time. The staff is cheerful, and prices are great. I like to watch out for their special of the day, to see what savory dinner I can pick up on my way home after working all day. They deliver to the local area for free, if you are lucky enough to live between Twin Rocks and Nefonna Beach.

Maybe it’s Covid time and we’re all about distancing but this place has all the ambiance of a corporate cafeteria. Best moment: “here’s the menu, it just fell off the wall…”. Had eggs and bacon which was generic eggs and bacon. What could go wrong?

A little dirty and beat-up, but that's common around here. Food is ok. Not bad, not great. They didn't get the menu right, but it was a small thing, so that's ok, too, I guess.

The biscuits and gravy were perfect. The country sausage gravy was so delicious. The bacon was cooked perfect. Prices and wonderful staff can't be beat. Definitely worth the stop in. I'll be back again and again.

So amazing. Sweet staff. I asked for something not on the menu and they with hesitation not only made it but perfected it. Definitely worth the 5 stars. The cook has true talent and it shows. Picture perfect and not even a fake picture it's just that amazing

Went in for breakfast after finding out the other restaurant grill was down. Felt more like a cafeteria with menus taped to wall but we just wanted some hearty and good food. Wife ordered an omelette and I the Farmers. I asked for an orange juice and noticed we were not offered any water. Orange juice showed up very pale colored and had the zingy sour taste like it had been sitting around for a few weeks to long. Breakfast showed up quick and looked pretty good. My wife enjoyed her omelette but was pretty disappointed in mine. Hash browns were very undercooked which was disappointing as I like mixing my eggs in them, but we're better then the rest of the meal. Bacon was nice and thick one piece though had an end that never saw the griddle it was so raw had to cut off that part. The taste was a bit funky as well, the sausage was not the best tasting pretty bland and the ham was very dry. The meat seemed like it was bought from a local farm or home mad but had been sitting around awhile. I'm all for that but the way it was prepared missed the mark. I decided to settle with half order of biscuits and gravy because it's hard to mess that up. Wrong gravy was cold( room temp at best) and biscuits were straight from fridge as they were so cold they most likely caused gravy to become cold.. by this time I was ready to pay my bill and leave. Seemed like mostly teenagers working with no supervision. Not very friendly and never once walked around to check on anyone to make sure everything was good or needed anything. In my opinion that goes along way even if the food is subpar. will I go back? We might try lunch or dinner but unfortunately won't be back for breakfast again.
