Review of Sunrise Cafe

Sunrise Cafe is a local restaurant and cafe located at 194 US-101 in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. With a primary focus on serving breakfast and brunch, this establishment offers a simple menu without too much excitement. The cafe is open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM every day of the week, making it a convenient spot for early risers and brunch enthusiasts.

Customers have mixed reviews about the food at Sunrise Cafe. Some rave about the delicious dishes and great service they received, while others have had less favorable experiences. The menu features classic breakfast items such as bacon, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. The bacon is particularly praised for its exceptional taste, and the hubcap-sized pancakes are a hit among pancake enthusiasts. However, some customers have found the food to be mediocre, with undercooked eggs, soggy hash browns, and average-tasting burgers.

Aside from the food, the service at Sunrise Cafe has been a point of discussion among patrons. While some have had positive interactions with friendly and attentive staff, others have encountered issues such as dirty tables, missing silverware, and forgotten toast. It's worth noting that the cleanliness of the establishment has also been a concern for some customers.

Despite the mixed reviews, Sunrise Cafe continues to attract customers with its affordable prices and generous portions. The cafe has a casual and laid-back atmosphere, although some visitors have described it as lacking in ambiance. If you're in the mood for a no-frills breakfast or brunch, Sunrise Cafe might be worth a visit.

Seriously, the bacon. How is it so good?! But also the hubcap-sized pancakes are delicious, and I am finicky about my pancakes. Loved the service, too. So nice!

The service was fine, the food was not. Had a ham and cheese omelet, which I've had tons of them at different places, this one was so salty I couldn't even eat it. The hash browns had a weird taste as well. The waitress was friendly, checked in at appropriate times. She is the only reason I have better than a 1 star. Will not be coming back because of the food. Even though prices were reasonable, wouldn't recommend here unless you love salt, other half farmers meal was very salty as well.

Absolutely floored by how great the food was! Very large portions, for a great price. You can tell all the food was made with care and quality. Also, the best bacon I ever had! Definitely coming back when we visit again.

A great family diner! I got the meat lovers skillet and it was delicious. Loved the fried steak as well. I would highly recommend anyone start their adventures at rockaway with breakfast at sunrise cafe!

A simple menu without excitement. Giant burger did not deliver its $16 worth of wow but did fill up a large appetite. Good service. Cash preferred.

Great family dining, wonderful service, too. Ordered the breakfast special, ham & cheese omlett with short stack pancakes & side of hash browns. Cooked just right, very generous portions & fast! They even have a great little corner for kid's fun. We will definitely be back.

Loved the food and the service. Only complaint was chairs aren't very comfortable. But i have arthritis and am sensitive to these things.
We had the fish and fries on friday night and returned for breakfast on sunday. Both meals were extremely good. Fresh ingredients, homemade cooking. Definitely will return! Portions are large too. And wonderful prices on top of that!

We live in Rockaway Beach so we were pleased when the restaurant reopened after having been closed for quite a while. Our first try was today, New Years Day, and it’s not likely we’ll be back. Wife’s omelette was so so but my pancakes were greasy tasting and my biscuits and gravy was cold (room temp at best). I asked to have it heated and never got it back. The waitress was delightful and hustling but bad food is bad food.

The food was mediocre. Most of the staff seemed angry and annoyed to be there and to beworking. I thought it was maybe just me but the rest of my group felt the same way. The only person who seemed to enjoy there job was the older gentleman. I did tip okay in hopes to help their spirits and maybe they had a rash of moody people.
