Review of Sunrise Cafe
Sunrise Cafe is a local restaurant and cafe located at 194 US-101 in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. With a primary focus on serving breakfast and brunch, this establishment offers a simple menu without too much excitement. The cafe is open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM every day of the week, making it a convenient spot for early risers and brunch enthusiasts.
Customers have mixed reviews about the food at Sunrise Cafe. Some rave about the delicious dishes and great service they received, while others have had less favorable experiences. The menu features classic breakfast items such as bacon, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. The bacon is particularly praised for its exceptional taste, and the hubcap-sized pancakes are a hit among pancake enthusiasts. However, some customers have found the food to be mediocre, with undercooked eggs, soggy hash browns, and average-tasting burgers.
Aside from the food, the service at Sunrise Cafe has been a point of discussion among patrons. While some have had positive interactions with friendly and attentive staff, others have encountered issues such as dirty tables, missing silverware, and forgotten toast. It's worth noting that the cleanliness of the establishment has also been a concern for some customers.
Despite the mixed reviews, Sunrise Cafe continues to attract customers with its affordable prices and generous portions. The cafe has a casual and laid-back atmosphere, although some visitors have described it as lacking in ambiance. If you're in the mood for a no-frills breakfast or brunch, Sunrise Cafe might be worth a visit.

My wife and I both got the two eggs 2 bacon two sausage and two pancakes for breakfast. We could have easily shared one of them and not finished. The portions were huge. The bacon was delicious. Neither of us liked the sausage. The pancakes were as big as the plate, but bland.

Make sure to open your boxes to check your order before you leave if you order over the phone for a pickup, although they took my name when I called in, they gave me the wrong order first, I had to tell them what I ordered because names don’t change anything, they were out of one of the items ordered, so finally gave me my bag and paid what I owed, I decided to check the bag one final time and sure enough they’re missing an item I paid for.
Nothing special when it comes to the flavor, they get 2 stars since I found a bit of hash browns in my short stack and hair in another box… I regret tipping after dealing with two waitresses that hated their job and looked at me funny when I stood at the pickup window.

I absolutely love this restaurant. The workers are so sweet, and the food is delicious. I've had oatmeal one day and a chicken fried steak the next. It tastes just like mom used to make (if she was a good cook) and you never feel like you're being pushed to eat fast and give up your table.

Great place for breakfast. Strong and good coffee and the owners are happy to adapt the menu offering according to how you like it. Very friendly, somewhat quirky and a bit of a throwback to days gone by (as is most of this town). Loved our breakfast here and would definitely return!

Swung in for breakfast this morning, and I see they have pretty good stars, but this was a disappointment. My hash browns were burnt and they’re was enough grease in the food my omelette kept sliding away from me. Service was poor. One couple walked out due to waiting. Oh but if you are a local you get service before anyone else guess it make sense take care of those that keep coming back. I sure won’t. Didn’t see anyone wipe down a table, cook Assistant had mask hanging from ear.
Maybe they were short handed ? But it was a disappointment to say the least

Came to visit Rockaway for my honeymoon.. This restaurant was Absolutely terrible, rancid oil cooked food. Server had absolutely no sense of customer service. Would not advise anyone to eat here visiting Rockaway, go to Grumpy's instead, it was much better and the staff are extremely friendly.

Stopped in on my way home. had a great breakfast, biscuits and gravy, eggs medium, bacon soft and hash browns. This was a special and believe me it was special. Service was reasonable fast, especially considering it was really busy, happened to be a Sunday. I can't say enough good stuff about how good this was. If you are there or just passing by you MUST stop here. By the way I am a very picky food guy, especially about bacon and this was GOOD.

We ate here once during our stay in Rockaway and then decided we liked it so much we came back 3 more times that week. The chicken strips are amazing. Huge pieces of chicken and perfectly breaded. Their fish is fresh and they dip and bread their own!

Wonderful food ,and very good portion sizes and pricing. They have lots to choose from. A little bare on the inside with little to look at. Waitress was very nice and helpful when we could get her attention, probably need more staffing because she seemed a bit rushed, causing her to get our orders mixed up. But all in all it was a great place for breakfast

I’m sure this place is usually really great. Today it was not. Two very impatient waitresses wanting to close early. Cooks rushing - undercooked eggs and a hair in one of our party’s food. Yikes. The sign stated they closed at 2 and they were locking up at 1:30 and telling people they were closed already.
