Excellent food. Lots of food for a great price. Quick in and out in rout 158. 12 of us stopped here to eat. The place was packed but we only waited for a short while. Service was super quick and friendly. Waffles are excellent with ice cream. The kids loved them. Lots of parking in the back and a grassy area we let our dogs run for a little. Will definitely return.

Mel's diner was a treat for sure! The food was decent, and had lovely decor. That being said, the food was pretty pricy and for a family of 5 it was 70$, and the portions were not that big. I'm not sure I would go again because of the prices, but it was decent enough!

We were disappointed with the food quality. I ordered a fried chicken cobb salad. The lettuce was wilted and browning, the other veggies in the salad were not fresh. The chicken was a processed chicken patty cut into strips. The fish special was disappointing as well. The cod was ok but the catfish was inedible and the hush puppies were over fried. The coleslaw had a strange taste. The corn nugget appetizer was good though.

Great diner on the way to the outer banks. Fun and has a huge amount of old content from magazines and advertising print. Great service and the food was exactly what we needed to begin our ride home.

Greeted happily, food came pretty quickly. We did get the waitress with the runny nose, apologized said it was allergies. She could not have been anymore sweeter or attentive, but the food was so so , and couldn't get past the snotty nose.

Food and service was awesome! Even the locals that eat there are awesome! It was my husband's birthday; one of the locals heard me trying to surprise my husband because it was his birthday and he pretty much paid our bill. I couldn't believe it. What a great experience! I'll be back!

The first time my husband and I went to this place everything was amazing. However, this last time we went sevice was great as usual but the new waitress got my order wrong so she very graciously apologized and took my order again. The kitchen served me uncooked fish. You couldn't even cut it with a fork. My husband talked to the check out person who told him I didn't even want the first order sent to me. He said because that's not what was ordered. The lady in a huff took the price of the fish off and we paid and left. Probably won't visit a 4th time.

Neat little vintage place with the old school diner atmosphere. It took quite some time to actually get our food, and the quality wasn’t great. I’m sure they’re probably understaffed like every other place, but the prices were high for the quality and poor experience.

I went for dinner with my son and nephew. We enjoyed the food. Also the lady was so sweet and very friendly. She was very sweet talking to my son and nephew 💙

Love the sourhern hospitality. Our waitress Bree was awesome as was the food. The only thing... no breakfast was served after 11. Was a little disappointed, wanted eggs. The old time feel is wonderful with all the signs and memorabilia. I had the burger and fries, thought it was so filling and delicious
