Horrible, waited to get served for over 20 mins, under staffed. Wouldn’t recommend if you want something fast and easy

Love this place! Food is very good along with the service and atmosphere!

My girlfriend and I stopped on the way back to Pittsburgh yesterday and I have to say of all the meals I had while in the Outer banks visiting this was my favorite. It was one of the best bacon cheeseburgers I have ever had, along with everything we ordered, from the coffee, to the corn fritters, everything was fresh and hot! Go check them out any chance you get because they are amazing!

The food was good and atmosphere fun. Very attentive service. Enjoyed a delicious Monte Cristo sandwich, which are not easy to come by.

Can't say enough good things about this place! Our party of four adults stopped there for breakfast on our way north following a week on the Outer Banks. The friendly staff, terrific food turned our sad, "vacation's over", frowns upside down. Decided to take full advantage of the "food we never make or get at home" and indulge in the great Southern breakfast fare. Grits were perfection, the lightly battered and fried chicken fried steak and the pork fritters (thin tender pork chops) with white gravy were not-to-be-missed! Ham and eggs, bacon, biscuits, and toast (they had RYE bread, my favorite!) completed the meals along with freshly brewed iced tea. Our waitress June, was as sweet as the sweet tea, and super attentive despite the fact that they were short-staffed and very busy. We will DEFINITELY be back to this great stop along the vacay path. And if you don't like it, you can just "Kiss My Grits!"

Great food and diner atmosphere.

The only downside was it was a little more pricey than I thought. It was an authentic '50s diner with two very nice older ladies running the whole place. They served me the best double bacon cheeseburger I have ever had and I can't wait to make Mel's diner a regular tradition for my family every time I go to outer Banks!

We stopped here not knowing what to expect and we’re very pleasantly surprised. The place is clean, good service and the food is great. We got breakfast, I had a western omelette that was full of ham and veggies and the biscuits are amazing!! My husband got pancakes with eggs and bacon and it was very good too. I would definitely recommend this place.

Mediocre at best. Great atmosphere with the nostalgia however that’s where it stops. Waitress was ok, had to wait sometime for coffee refill. Food was overpriced. $30 bucks for breakfast come on now. $6 for 2 biscuits and some gravy wow.

The service was pretty ok. The waitress had a runny nose, that was very visible. She actually wiped her nose on the back of her hand... Took a while to get the food, we did have a party of 8... Which is understandable...I just can't deal with the runny nose thing, that happened twice actually... They were very welcoming and friendly... Food was ok
