Café Du Monde Riverwalk is a satellite location of the iconic Café Du Monde, which has been serving beignets and café au lait since 1862. Located at 500 Port of New Orleans Pl, New Orleans, LA 70130, this coffee shop is a must-visit for tourists and locals alike.
The café is open seven days a week, with slightly different hours on Sundays. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the service is fast. The café is located inside the outlet mall, but there is also an entrance from outside on the Riverwalk.
The beignets are the star of the show, and they are served fresh and hot. A typical order consists of three beignets, which are golden brown and covered with tons of powdered sugar. I wasn’t “wowed” by Cafe Du Monde. Their Beignets reminded me of funnel cakes. Luckily during our visit we were able to experience some really good Beignets, I just didn’t think Cafe Du Monde was memorable. The space was nice and they have lots of outdoor seating. The line was long but it went pretty fast. What did suck was that they only accept cash and they don’t communicate that until you get to the register. So waiting in a long hot line and not knowing it’s cash only kind of sucked.

I had a chance to visit the most famous coffee shop based on word from friends and google suggestions. Being a coffee lover and with roots from Southern India, the strong coffee flavor of Cafe Du Monde at NOLA made me feel nostalgic. I loved the coffee very much. If you have aversion for strong flavor, I would suggest you to add milk cream.
And have to talk about their Beignets. It was too good and I happened to have it twice during my trip to NOLA.
And the price is also very nominal with small cup coffee being around $2.73 and beignets (3 ct) being $2.73 , costing in total around $5ish.

What can I say that others don't know? It's a staple. If you don't go to cafe Dumonde and get beignets, that's like going to New York City and not getting a slice or a bagel. Have them any time and multiple times.
Being from north jersey we have plenty of Italian American events and we have on shore boardwalks. At those you get zeppolis or funnel cake, both taste similar to one another and have been compared to beignets. Beignets are better. You'll get them fresh out of the fryer every time and sprinkled, no, doused in powdered sugar.
My last visit to Nola I went 3 times. It was glorious.

Pleasantly surprised at how good the beignet was. I thought it was all hype.
NOTE: This was one of the few places that we could actually eat at without a vaccination or PCR result.
Service was fast and it was right next to the river. It was nice to get inside the mall and away from the heat.

Really worth it. Line moved quickly. People watching and street scene unparalleled. Bring cash. I was saved by a friendly line neighbor. I would happily have that every morning if I could.

I give 2 stars for effort and I'm being nice..Whenever I visit new Orleans I look forward to Cafe Du Monde. The riverwalk location is so disappointing. The cashier wasn't nice. I asked her for six Beignets and a frozen coffee. When I got the Beignets they looked as thow they had been sitting for a min. Hardly warm and hard. I asked if I could please have fresh Beignets that were hot and so another worker came to the counter and said it would be about 6 min.. I said great I'll wait... the cashier began to say to me it's not cold and that her hand burned when she touched it. As if i don't know hot from cold or warm. She proceeded to talk about me in front of my face to other customers. The ice coffee was nasty, but I was only too afraid to even ask for a different drink.. so instead I bought a coke.. while she was pouring my coke she was having loud conversations with another staff and the loud conversations continued.. I eventually got my Beignets and tried to find a clean table.. none was clean that was open.. I had to take trash off one table and clean it in order to have a clean table to sit. While having my Beignets the loud taking about personal business continued. The Beignets however was a little better. As I write this... one staff member was arguing with what I believed was the manager. She was shouting obscenities everybody was looking .. completely disrespectful.. I know good staffing is hard to come by these days.. but in order to run an effective business customer service is important.. without it.. it can run any company into the ground.. the arguing continued. Riverwalk location is important because cruise ships comes in often with so many tourists. Change your staffing or train them to be better. I definitely won't visit Riverwalk Cafe Du Monde location again.
