Review of Café Du Monde Riverwalk

Café Du Monde Riverwalk: A New Orleans Icon

Café Du Monde Riverwalk is a satellite location of the iconic Café Du Monde, which has been serving beignets and café au lait since 1862. Located at 500 Port of New Orleans Pl, New Orleans, LA 70130, this coffee shop is a must-visit for tourists and locals alike.

The café is open seven days a week, with slightly different hours on Sundays. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the service is fast. The café is located inside the outlet mall, but there is also an entrance from outside on the Riverwalk.

The beignets are the star of the show, and they are served fresh and hot. A typical order consists of three beignets, which are golden brown and covered with tons of powdered sugar. They are sweet and delicious, and they pair perfectly with the café's signature café au lait. The coffee is unique and has a distinct flavor due to the addition of chicory.

The atmosphere at Café Du Monde Riverwalk is lively and bustling. The café is always busy, but the staff does an excellent job of moving people in and out quickly without being pushy. The jazz group out on the street adds to the wonderful breakfast experience.

While some customers have complained about the service and the cleanliness of the café, most agree that the beignets are worth the visit. The café is cash-only, so be sure to bring some cash with you.

If you are in New Orleans, Café Du Monde Riverwalk is a must-visit. The beignets are excellent, the coffee is unique, and the atmosphere is lively. Don't miss out on this New Orleans icon!

I've always considered this a tourist trap that has a great history. The food is great. The wait staff is, at times, pushy. I feel that for a great tip you should give me the full package. Smile. Speak friendly, and act as if you are happy and appreciative of the patronage.

I had a wonderful moments here with my friends. I loved the taste of beignets. Before I went to this cafe I didn’t know that they have other locations just in Louisiana. I enjoyed the french style. If you want to have breakfast with your friends here be aware that you need to wait in a long line of people.
One of The things I didn’t like was, that they didn’t accept cards so you need to carry cash with you. So in these pandemic days it’s not healthy, and the other thing was about the restroom. There is no restroom in this cafe.

Great place to try out beignets if you're ever visiting New Orleans.

I'm in the minority but the whole experience was okay! Good but not great. I have not been in the Big Easy in decades and while vi did like the beignets, they were definitely over hyped, and the hot chocolate was weak. The best thing was being back in New Orleans.

We went when they first opened in the morning. Line was decent, much more reasonable than the line at the original location. Tables are cleaner and easier to find. Beignets and cafe au lait are as good as the original location. Would recommend this location to non first timers.

We ate here some fresh and hot Beignets and there were delicious. You got 3 pieces for 3,40 USD. Furthermore this is a kind of Café, where they sold only filtered brewed coffee, Weichbleis nothing special. My only purpose to visit this Café was because of the Beignets but I would give 5 stars if they would also serve some Espresso or other Coffee specialities.

Beignets were good, counter service was good, however, with that being said they were clearing the dining room of all chairs and tables one whole hour before closing! We sat down just in time otherwise we would’ve had to eat while standing like many other people had to do! They literally took chairs away from tables that already had people seated. One lady had to stop them from taking the chairs of her friends who were at the counter ordering, smh!

Not busy at all like the French Quarter. The beignets were good.
