Review of Café Du Monde Riverwalk

Café Du Monde Riverwalk: A New Orleans Icon

Café Du Monde Riverwalk is a satellite location of the iconic Café Du Monde, which has been serving beignets and café au lait since 1862. Located at 500 Port of New Orleans Pl, New Orleans, LA 70130, this coffee shop is a must-visit for tourists and locals alike.

The café is open seven days a week, with slightly different hours on Sundays. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the service is fast. The café is located inside the outlet mall, but there is also an entrance from outside on the Riverwalk.

The beignets are the star of the show, and they are served fresh and hot. A typical order consists of three beignets, which are golden brown and covered with tons of powdered sugar. They are sweet and delicious, and they pair perfectly with the café's signature café au lait. The coffee is unique and has a distinct flavor due to the addition of chicory.

The atmosphere at Café Du Monde Riverwalk is lively and bustling. The café is always busy, but the staff does an excellent job of moving people in and out quickly without being pushy. The jazz group out on the street adds to the wonderful breakfast experience.

While some customers have complained about the service and the cleanliness of the café, most agree that the beignets are worth the visit. The café is cash-only, so be sure to bring some cash with you.

If you are in New Orleans, Café Du Monde Riverwalk is a must-visit. The beignets are excellent, the coffee is unique, and the atmosphere is lively. Don't miss out on this New Orleans icon!

Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. They bring 3 beignets per bag and they are pretty large! If you don’t eat that much, one bag of 3 is enough for 2 people to taste.

I had a frozen coffee and it was very refreshing.

Even though the line was down the block it was still a great experience and worth the wait. The line did move really quickly and it took us about 35 minutes to get up to the restaurant and then another 5 minutes to get a seat. The service was really fast very friendly and an experience in itself. There's so much sugar on the beignets you end up wearing a lot of it on your way out the door :-).

For the Heritage and the culture it carried it deserves a 5 star.
A long line before you start and all the way into the café you get to see a lot of things that says about the history this place carries.
Coming to the food I really dint care about the coffee taste and the French donuts were good except for the insane amount of sugar powder they put on them. The Café is always crowded and hygiene is a bit compromised.
CASH only business is a bummer even at this point in time.

Used to be a good place but they have dropped their reputations. Dirty dining area, unmanaged tables. CASH only (Jan 2022). Thousands of people still love to stop by here but there are many other similar place and better test.

My friend hadn’t yet experienced New Orleans beignets. I had to take her to the location serving the best beignets in the city. Café Du Monde has a few locations in the city, and these are hands-down the tastiest desserts you can get. We went to the location inside the Riverwalk mall as it was easily accessible from our hotel. There was a decent line, however it moved fast. Their coffees, both hot and frozen, are must haves. With how expensive it is, if you are looking to take a piece of New Orleans back with you, they sell a mug with coffee for only $6!

The beignets come in servings of three pieces, and it only cost $3.40 plus tax ($3.72 total). These delectable desserts are lightly fried dough topped with a copious amount of powdered sugar. They are extremely fresh and warm when served, and they are best enjoyed while still piping hot. They are served in a little paper bag, and the trick is to fold the bag, and vigorously shake it so that the powdered sugar is covering every inch of the beignet evenly.

This location is the perfect spot to get a classic staple dessert in an indoor setting with a massive window looking out on the river.

Came here between 10-11 on a week day. Line was short, almost no wait and plenty of seating. Located within the mall.
Friendly staff, they clean up the tables quickly. The fresh hot beignets were quite good but much heavier (dense) than I preferred. Coffee was just-okay, I ordered it hot. Probably won’t come back again. will find other beignets to try next time I visit the city.

We went to Cafe du Monde almost every day during the New Orleans trip. We can't say no to the delicious Beignets, those little guys are so yummy, they go very well with coffee!

Get your shopping on and end with some delicious beignets! Yes please!

Situated right in the middle of the outlet mall, it’s so nice cuz you get a view of the river while enjoying these fluffy pieces of goodness!

Love that this one is a bit more intimate as you get to see the process of the beignet making!

Service like all the other locations are super quick and friendly!

Great job overall!

I ended up trying 6 different beinget places, and it turns out that that line is always super long for good reason. Their waiters are super sweet, service is great, and their coffee and beingets are some of New Orleans finest. Highly recommend if the popularity wasn't enough for you haha.

My first experience with beignets and chicory coffee. I like it!

They move people in and out well, without being pushy. That balance isn’t easy, but they do it.

I was gobsmacked by the amount of powdered sugar covering the beignets, but actually, it’s just right. Their coffee is interesting, in a good way.

With powdered sugar everywhere, it’s a sticky place. But somehow, that just adds to the whole experience.

The jazz group out on the street when we were there added to the wonderful breakfast experience.
