Review of Café Du Monde Riverwalk

Café Du Monde Riverwalk: A New Orleans Icon

Café Du Monde Riverwalk is a satellite location of the iconic Café Du Monde, which has been serving beignets and café au lait since 1862. Located at 500 Port of New Orleans Pl, New Orleans, LA 70130, this coffee shop is a must-visit for tourists and locals alike.

The café is open seven days a week, with slightly different hours on Sundays. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the service is fast. The café is located inside the outlet mall, but there is also an entrance from outside on the Riverwalk.

The beignets are the star of the show, and they are served fresh and hot. A typical order consists of three beignets, which are golden brown and covered with tons of powdered sugar. They are sweet and delicious, and they pair perfectly with the café's signature café au lait. The coffee is unique and has a distinct flavor due to the addition of chicory.

The atmosphere at Café Du Monde Riverwalk is lively and bustling. The café is always busy, but the staff does an excellent job of moving people in and out quickly without being pushy. The jazz group out on the street adds to the wonderful breakfast experience.

While some customers have complained about the service and the cleanliness of the café, most agree that the beignets are worth the visit. The café is cash-only, so be sure to bring some cash with you.

If you are in New Orleans, Café Du Monde Riverwalk is a must-visit. The beignets are excellent, the coffee is unique, and the atmosphere is lively. Don't miss out on this New Orleans icon!

The service was extremely slow. There were only 2 staff - 1 making the beignets and 1 taking orders. I waited in line for 1.5 hours only to get cold beignets and mediocre coffee. Cafe au lait does not have enough milk so ask for more when you order.

The beignets were hot, fresh and amazing! We got a cafe au lait and a pack of beignets. Shake the pack of beignets before eating to coat it well with powdered sugar. We didn't know this when we had our first ones. Thoroughly enjoyed these beignets by dipping it in the coffee sitting on the river side view. This one is much quieter and less rushed compared to the one on Decatur street. If you want to get some beignets for your loved ones, there is a Cafe Du Monde in the airport past the security check near concourse B. The price is the same in all of their branches.

Ordered 3 of these bad boys and got them fresh out the fryer. They were so warm and chewy, sort of like a fried donut. They served them with so much icing sugar that when I was done I looked like Tony Montana out of Scarface

The fryer needed a bit more space, beignets we're tasty but not as fluffy as they could be

Maybe it’s because I went to this location and not the original that I found them lacking. They were all a little doughy instead of light and slightly crispy around the edges like I remember. They were still tasty but the texture was wrong. The tables were all sticky and the trash cans were almost to overflowing, but they were extremely busy with a long waiting line.

Great simple Coffee shop within the Shopping Mall, serving the local Beignets and their own Coffee. For those from the UK, I would say these are a cross between a Croissant and a Donut with loads of Icing sugar to coat the top. The Beignets come in packs of 4 and are great to try and are quite heavy, so great for a mid meal snack. Well worth a try while in New Orleans.

We went here after going to the cafe du monde at city park and the beignets were not as good. This location is in the mall and beignets were very doughy. Too thick. Coffee was good.

Compared to the real Cafe Du Monde, this place is a joke. Dirty, coffee and beignets were awful and the staff give zero effs. Watched one employee working the entire time while on facetime, and slammed the kitchen door TWICE into a patron and then she laughed hysterically about it. TRASH!

Whqt happened to my fluffy, delicious beignet? What I got was 2 lbs of confectioners sugar on a dried out, non-fluffy, overly chewy piece of fried doough! Was not happy with this at all! Guess you should go to the original location and skip the Riverwalk. Very disappointed!
