Review of Café Du Monde Riverwalk

Café Du Monde Riverwalk: A New Orleans Icon

Café Du Monde Riverwalk is a satellite location of the iconic Café Du Monde, which has been serving beignets and café au lait since 1862. Located at 500 Port of New Orleans Pl, New Orleans, LA 70130, this coffee shop is a must-visit for tourists and locals alike.

The café is open seven days a week, with slightly different hours on Sundays. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the service is fast. The café is located inside the outlet mall, but there is also an entrance from outside on the Riverwalk.

The beignets are the star of the show, and they are served fresh and hot. A typical order consists of three beignets, which are golden brown and covered with tons of powdered sugar. They are sweet and delicious, and they pair perfectly with the café's signature café au lait. The coffee is unique and has a distinct flavor due to the addition of chicory.

The atmosphere at Café Du Monde Riverwalk is lively and bustling. The café is always busy, but the staff does an excellent job of moving people in and out quickly without being pushy. The jazz group out on the street adds to the wonderful breakfast experience.

While some customers have complained about the service and the cleanliness of the café, most agree that the beignets are worth the visit. The café is cash-only, so be sure to bring some cash with you.

If you are in New Orleans, Café Du Monde Riverwalk is a must-visit. The beignets are excellent, the coffee is unique, and the atmosphere is lively. Don't miss out on this New Orleans icon!

I don't like giving bad reviews but I had high hopes. The cashier wasn't very welcoming and waited on 3 people and then was just every where other than taking care of customers. The cleaner was seen looking at his teeth in the mirror and then proceeded to rest against the wall eating chips. The baker had to make a fresh batch of beignets with to me there wasn't any love in it. After he cut the dough he picked up 12 of them and tossed them into the fryers from where he was forming them an it showed in the inconsistency when they were finished. He also had to ring people up because the cashier kept disappearing. We were there for at least 30 minutes waiting for 2 orders.

The coffee is not good and the beignets were really disappointing. Maybe it had to do with the mall location but there is such fantastic food elsewhere.

The ladies at the cash register were not friendly at all. People come from far away just to get beignets here and this is very disappointing. 10/2/22 12 PM

The hype is real, expect a minimum 30 minute waiting in the morning hours. Can't miss this if you're in New Orleans.

Beignets topped with tons of sugar but go well, given they are fresh and hot. Can get a bit filling with a fresh cup of coffee. The rustic vibe, the food kinda warrants the hype. Pretty well managed crowd.

So delicious! The Cafe Au Lait is my favorite. Beignets were fluffy and fresh and crispy.

Nice big clean restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor sitting. It was very hot so we sat inside for a little while. We ordered a regular coffee. It was good, tasted just like any other coffee. Friendly customer service.

A "must-visit" when in NOLA. Great tasting beignets, coffee was also the best. Athmosphere and service was great. Great location.

If you want to avoid the long lines, crowds, heat and humidity that will surely be experienced at the main Cafe, and you are in the financial district of NOLA, then come here instead. The beignets and coffee are exactly the same delicious treat you would have gotten at the other place. By all means, go to the main one and take pictures, selfies. Then come here instead and chill.there will be lines at the usual peak times but if you go before or after then all will be well.

The second shop of the traditional cafe chain serving good coffee and snacks. It is located within the shopping mall and therefore air conditioned. It does not have queues, either. If you would love to try Cafe du Monde but do not have the energy and time to queue up at the original outlet, try this one.

This was my first time in New Orleans and my Uncle, who went to LSU and Tulane University said I have to try Beignets. Everyone kept telling me they tasted like donuts. When I tried the Beignets at first, I said this does not taste like a donut. It is NOT Sweet. Someone else said not a donut, Beignets taste like funnel cakes. I started thinking about a funnel cake with powered sugar and this is EXACTLY what a Beignets taste like. Once I changed my mind comparing it to a funnel cake, I enjoyed it even better.

After we finished at Café Du Monde we walked on the Riverwalk!
