Wife and I love to visit the area and for the longest time we always went to Carmel Bakery, but we wanted to try something different this time. We had the blueberry square from here and it was GREAT, to the extent I’ll only be coming here for our hiking pastries going forward.

The pastries here are super fresh, my strawberry boat had light, crisp puff pastry with light custard inside, and the raspberry brioche was light and delightful with fresh raspberries, not too sweet. But come early, they close at 3:00, and a very popular place.👍🏼😊

The pastries and desserts are fresh and delicious here, but one of the employees loaded 3 of my pastries together in one tiny bag, which smashed my Blueberry Almondine and knocked the almond slivers off of the top and it broke my Raspberry Swirl Pastry, making it a gooey mess and much harder to eat. The heavier item, the Orange Zest White Chocolate Bread Roll piece survived, but with sticky jam all over it.

Everything I had here was amazing, especially the Croissants. All the Tarts were delicious. The Country Loaf was so delicious. Next time I'm in the area I will most definitely be back. Highly recommend this place to you. Go early because they do get a line and run out of products.

Food there was great, a pity that the patio was not open.

However, we went this Mon morning ~9am (12-20-21) , the female cashier had a super bad attitude. She was very impatient, didn’t want to talk to you, and kept complaining.

It left us a very unpleasant experience.

If you hate the job, pls don’t do it, than passing ur bad feeling to customers.

If you’re looking for authentic French pastries, you will find them here. The 🥐 are flaky and deliciously crisp, classic quiche and tarts are divine. Go early for the best selection, they close in the afternoon and by then there may not be much left!

Both my husband and I lived in Europe as children and we adore french bread. We love this bakery and have never been dissappointed. We often stop for a pastry and coffee. We find it a great place for a treat after we take a walk in Carmel by the Sea. Love this place and we love the Barnyard for shopping, eating and just enjoying the beauty.

2 stars for the nice English barista working. Coffee-blah, chocolate eclair- okay. Nothing spectacular, wouldn’t return.

I don't say this lightly, but this was best pastry I've ever had. Delightfully flaky, buttery and crisp, from the quiche to the apple turnover, everything was outstanding. The family that runs the bakery is lovely, and we can't wait to visit again!
