LAYERED is a trendy and modern restaurant located in downtown McKinney, Texas. With its modern interiors, eclectic furniture, and chill vibes, this place offers a unique and inviting atmosphere for diners. Whether you're looking for a delicious breakfast, a satisfying brunch, a cup of expertly roasted coffee, or a glass of wine, LAYERED has got you covered.

The menu at LAYERED is elevated and diverse, offering a range of café fare and pastries made from scratch. From their flavorful sweet potato hash to their mouthwatering polenta pancakes, there's something to please every palate. The coffee here is a standout, as they roast their own beans in-house, ensuring a fresh and aromatic cup every time. If you're in the mood for something stronger, LAYERED also doubles as a wine bar, offering a selection of wines to complement your meal.

While some customers have had mixed experiences with the service, many have praised the friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant is open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM daily, making it a perfect spot for breakfast or lunch. The outdoor patio provides a great vantage point for people-watching and enjoying the downtown activities.

It's worth noting that LAYERED also transforms into a speakeasy at night, adding an extra layer of excitement and intrigue to the dining experience. However, it's important to keep in mind that the restaurant has limited seating on the patio and some customers have mentioned that it can get crowded during peak hours.

Overall, LAYERED offers a unique dining experience with its modern ambiance, delicious food, and expertly roasted coffee. Whether you're a local looking for a new favorite spot or a visitor exploring downtown McKinney, LAYERED is definitely worth a visit.

Wonderful coffee (with fun designs!) and tea selection. Their coffee reminds me of our trip to Italy. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff with comfortable seating and a relaxing atmosphere. They have options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with brunch on Sundays! My favorite spot when I'm in downtown.

I’ve been wanting to try this place since they opened. My family found a Monday morning to visit and were very pleased by the food, but found Layered lacking in a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant was pretty empty since it was 10:30 on a Monday morning, but both owners were walking around working and the girl behind the coffee and bakery bar was standing bored on her phone. I knew it was the owner because I recognized him from "The Generator" Coffee shop in downtown Garland... looked him up and sure enough, it was him. Perhaps it was just an "off" day, but it felt very cold and borderline uncomfortable. The music, which was all 80’s, also wasn’t great. Our waitress after we finished our meal, disappeared. We sat there with empty plates and no check for 15 minutes awkwardly while the owner sat a few tables away, not bothering to come over, see how the food was or if we needed our bill. The girl standing behind the bar finally came over and asked if we wanted our check. All in all, the food was fantastic but Layered really needs to work on their atmosphere. We expected a much more friendly and welcoming environment as most downtown McKinney restaurants offer.... not sure if we will return after mediocre service. One would think with McKinney Square taking pride in their local restaurants with patrons who loyally support them, Layered would see the need to really STEP UP in this area....

*one other thing my husband and I both commented on- the lighting over the coffee bar area, there was none. It gave a "closed" effect, which also played into the unwelcoming atmosphere.... just feedback if management bothers to look.

Amazing! Steele, Aaron, and Jessie were the most hospitable servers. Will definitely be back!

Great coffee, tasty food and delicious fresh baked goods! We went here for dinner and got the chicken street tacos and pasta carbonara. The street tacos were amazing! Great flavor combination. They also offered a free coffee sample from their in-house roasted beans for us to try. Even as a straight black coffee it had really good, smooth flavor. After dinner we took home two of their baked goods. The raspberry cheesecake and coffeecake cupcake were both super tasty!

The ambience is fantastic with a slightly eclectic but comfortable mix of furniture. It is the perfect setting whether you are coming for a meal, a treat or even a place to get some work done.

The best thing of all however is that they are open till 10pm on the weekends! Other than Starbucks we have not been able to find a local place to hang out and have a coffee in the evenings. So, super excited this place is open now.

If you haven’t been go check it out. You’ll be glad you did!

Loved this place. I had polenta pancakes they were AMAZING. Love the fact it is a speakeasy in the evenings. Definitely recommend their breakfast and lunch menu.

Small quaint laid back eatery on the McKinney square. Nice place to have a quiet meal and a cup of joe, beer wine, tea, etc The wait staff is great. They have big tables and easy chairs. We had the corned beef hash. It was very good. Definitely recommend this place.

My friend and I ate breakfast at layered this morning. We were seated immediately by a friendly and very helpful waitress. At present I have specific dietary requirements, the waitress answered all my many questions thoroughly and even sought out a chef to explain to me how certain dishes are made. The food that we ordered was fresh, delicious and tasty perfectly presented. The service was friendly, professional and simply lovely. I’m really impressed with Layered and will be back with other friends and family.

Fantastic fresh coffee. They must roast it because it was not bitter and was really smooth. The food was really great too. I would say that the entire breakfast was as hand crafted as you can get, and clearly done by someone who cares.

This place set a new bar for my 5 star reviews.
