LAYERED

My aunt chose to take us here for lunch one day, and I totally respect the decision. Layered is a really rad place. It’s got very simplistic decorations, but when you add them all up (you could say, when you layer them together), it makes for a super neat place that’s fun to gawk around as you sit and dine.

The only thing I can continue to think about from LAYERED is their freaking waffles. You can get a chicken and waffles entree, and after trying my cousin’s dish of this, our entire table immensely regretted not also getting those dang waffles.

I kid you not- BEST WAFFLE I HAVE *EVER* HAD! Like, it’s hard to even fully recount just how good. It was a sweet and very sugary waffle, one of those bites of food that’s so good that you just turn and look at your friend/ family member in knowing acknowledgment and honor to understand just how wonderful that taste of food is. Holy cats.

I did also get a mimosa, which was okay but my poor waitress forgot about until near the end of the meal because they were so busy. $10 to begin with, and then $1 for refills. The rest of us really enjoyed our meals, but we were absolutely hooked on the waffles from the moment of impact with our tongues, and it was hard to think of much else.

And the in the mornin’, I’m gettin’ LAYERED waffles!

Not taste as good as they look like in the plate. Wouldn’t seat two parties in the table of four just in case a party of four might have come. There was a table for two in a dark on the restroom way that hostess offered while they had 4 tables for four weren’t occupied, and they didn’t get occupied during our time being there. Finally a couple left and they prepared the booth for us.

Come for BellaBot and stay for the food.
Just killing time in downtown McKinney and had a hard time finding a place to eat that was open. We were glad this one was.
Quick lunch/brunch of Spicy Chicken Sandwich and Corn Beef Hash with an egg on top. Not bad ..but just having the boy roaming around.

We had the sweet potato hash, side of sweet potato pancakes and spicy chicken sandwich. Everything tasted great and comfy atmosphere. My only complaint is that you wait a good amount for service and food, but perfect if you're wanting to just sip on mimosas and chill.

Friendly baristas, decent coffee.. great atmosphere

Stopped in for a late breakfast - hadn't eaten here before so thought we'd give it a try.
The burger was good sized and my daughter enjoyed it
The breakfast tacos were decent sized but showed up with two on a plate and some salsa... Son said it was ok
Wife ordered the breakfast sandwich, with sausage, looked and tasted great
I ordered the Migas which were a little disappointing... Not only was the portion small but it was basically just a scramble with minimal sausage, and some tortilla chips thrown on top ( I did find one or two mixed in the scramble, but they were small).
Overall, not a bad experience, but not a great one for a birthday breakfast... Yeah, it was my birthday so was hoping for a nice surprise,. Overall, won't complain but likely won't be stopping here for breakfast again.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We made a reservation at 1:30 pm on Mother's Day and we had called a few weeks back and asked if we would get rushed since they close at 2. The man on the phone assured us we would not and could stay as long as we could. We get there on the day of our reservation and we are informed that we have 30 minutes to order and eat. They also tell us they can't serve any food or drinks after 2. I talk to the manager and tell him I had been assured this wouldn't happen and he's pretty much worthless. Sitting at the table is my dad who is a well known restaurant owner and consultant and has been for over 25 years. He has helped many people open restaurants, consult, and franchise restaurants over his over 25 years in the business. He is appalled that this is happening and says this isn't how a restaurant is run. We rush to eat (my mom and dad refuse to order bc they don't want to be rushed). We end up paying and leaving and agree never to return. We end up going to Landon winery and have great service and it saves our Mother's Day from getting ruined. Whoever owns layered needs to find employees and managers that actually care about your business and need to make sure they aren't lying to customers on the phone.

Service and atmosphere were great. The coffee was presented well, but maybe I'm just too picky on flavor. It was meh at best for me, but that's not saying that somebody else would not love it. Salsa they used for the breakfast tacos was great, but the tacos left much to be desired. I would definitely go back to try something different on the menu, I've heard good things about the chicken and waffles and should have started with that. Lesson learned I will see you next time.

We went bar hopping in downtown McKinney and went to this bar around 10:45pm. We were told the bar was full and waited about 10 min outside. The guy was extremely rude and unprofessional. We were a group of 6 and more than 12 people left the place. The guy did not care and left us waiting on the cold. The guy saw we were Hispanic and I only can imagine he was completely discriminatory toward us. We were not drunk, we are working elegant people and the guy was completely rude and nasty.

Unfortunately we wanted to enjoy the place, have some cocktails and a good time. Unfortunately I will bash this place forever. Completely disgusting attitude.

Very upset about

My fiancé and I love Layered. We have been about 4-5 times so far and every time we go we leave satisfied. The staff is friendly and very helpful if you need recommendations. The coffee is amazing and the food gets better each time we go!

The Shakshuka was delicious (my wife shared), and my omelet was totally awesome. 5 stars 🌟!
Coming back. Bella (the robot server) and Karen were excellent hosts!! Great service, wonderful food!❤️
