Sola Coffee Cafe

Sola coffee is my favorite coffee shop in Raleigh. The staff is friendly, food is consistently yummy, coffee is always tasty, orders are efficient, and it’s a place where everybody knows your name. Feels like home.

Always crowded which is a testament to how yummy the food is. Excellent vibe all around. If you are gluten-free, try the scones, if you can get one before they are gone.

My friend and I have had a journey checking out local Raleigh coffee shops while working remote. After hearing such rave reviews and seeing local influencers recommend Sola for remote work, I was excited when it was Sola's turn. Unfortunately, I got to Sola this morning and noticed after ordering that there is select wifi hours between 9 AM - 1 PM EST. Additionally, there are no outlets to plug your computer to preserve battery life. Since the primary goal was to work in a coffee shop and there were no amenities to accommodate working remote in the mornings,I had to leave and go to a nearby Starbucks. I will say that the omelet I ordered was VERY good and the coffee was also a joy. I would've enjoyed the place more if I was just catching up but this is not an ideal spot to work remote/study etc. given the limitations on Wi-Fi. If your goal is to work in the morning then this would not be the best location. If you are looking for just good coffee/food or afternoon work then I would definitely recommend. 3 stars only because the Wi-Fi limitations.

I love it here the food is amazing ! the tall guy with the blonde hair that usually does the coffee and other various things is really nice. He always makes me feel like I’m where I’m supposed to be 🐐if you ever read this thanks for being awesome dude ! Whole staff is nice as well. Me and my siblings or partner visit a few saturdays out of the month to get our usual and some coffee ☕️

Love the location and atmosphere of this coffee shop. The hot minis are to die for. Cant go wrong with anything on the menu.

This is one of my favorite spots in Raleigh. It's where my wife and I had our first date. It's where I did remote work when I was starting my career. And it's where I saw firsthand how a company can be run with high integrity while providing a great product (coffee, food, etc.) and service. I'd give them 6 stars if I could.

My sister and I went to sola for the first time this week…it was amazing. We are both gluten free (celiac) and had the gf blueberry scone and breakfast sandwiches with gf bread. The scone was amazing, even flaky (it’s rare to find a gluten free pastry that’s flaky). Chai tea latte, coffee, and breakfast sandwiches were also delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. We had a great time and will be going back frequently.

Great food and coffee! Fun place to hang out, but don’t plan on doing work there: they shut off the wifi from 9am until 1, and then close at 3pm. I get it! The perfect place to chat and meet new people, though.

Simply awful.

My 7 year old son wanted red pepper flakes in his “heirloom avocado toast”. Bear in mind they have red pepper flakes and use them on multiple items.

The answer was “no”.

They are not willing to put red pepper flakes on the heirloom avocado toast. When I asked why, the answer was the kitchen doesn’t want to put red pepper flakes on the heirloom avocado toast. As bizarre as that answer is, I then asked can we have some red pepper flakes on the side. The answer was “no” again.

You might think I’m kidding. I’m not. This place sucks.
