My 2nd and final time dining at this IHOP. My first experience was unpleasant because of the super miserable depressed hostess. This time around, my experience was only marginally better.
I stood at the hostess stand and the kid serving tables looked at me directly several times without acknowledging me. When I spoke up to be seated, he seemed surprised I was there to eat. 😄🤦♂️
Service here is extremely slow. I ordered pancakes and chicken meal with a side home fries The restaurant was nearly dead when I came in. My food took so long to come out I started to get hangry.
On the plus side, my meal was mighty delicious!
Unfortunately I will not coming back.

Great place to grab breakfast it's always full, be prepared to wait for a while. They are also short on staff at the moment but make up with the staff they do have on board. 💪🏼👍🏻 Food is your average breakfast nothing grand nothing less.

Server, Danielle, took our order but did not send it in so after 20 minutes of waiting she came out and said it was the ipads fault that our order hadn't gone through. Thank goodness for Elizabeth who got our order sent to the back. When we finally did get our food, pretty much everything was burnt. Normally this IHOP is busy and yummy, but not on Monday nights. Now I know why.

Our extended family of 16 were on the road for Mothers Day. We had spent the day driving and found ourselves in Carlsbad, NM. It was a little before 9 pm and we had skipped dinner to go watch the bat flight at dusk. But then we were hungry. We stopped at the IHOP in Carlsbad. The hostess that greeted us said they were closing, but the manager came out and said she and the cook would stay and take care of us. There were two other sweet servers that stayed as well. I wish we had taken a pic with these sweet folks because they took such good care of us- all 16 of us! we had a wonderful, delicious Mothers Day dinner (and day) because they were committed to consumer service and taking care of people (as well as business). Thank you so much. I hope you had a blessed day- you blessed each of us!! Happy Mother’s Day!” Thank you to the manager, the cook and the two other servers that helped take care of our group. On the road cross country (thanks to a Southwest Airlines), we were among the first guests of the day (4 other parties ahead of us). Observed a teenager in IHOP shirt walk in then out again, apparently quitting. Only 3 staff: the gentleman coordinating seating and explaining there might be a delay, the server and the cook/chef. Very little delay, no drama and food was delicious! Kudos to the team of 3 who wrangled 8-10 tables while keeping their cool and keeping customers happy!
I didn’t get names but the server had pink hair and a big smile, the “wrangler” a tall, quiet young man who alternated checking in on us with clearing and cleaning tables and keeping track of who was seated when. Did not meet the cook but the food was delicious.
Hope these folks are recognized for their efforts!

Don’t waste your time! Stood to be seated for over 5 minutes, no one acknowledged us and a lady took two phone orders while we stood there. Not many customers, now I know why. We left and went to Denny’s, much better with extremely friendly employees, great service, and food.

This was the worst experience ever. Waitresses need more training, the hostess needs to stay off the phone and pay attention to customers waiting to be seated!
Dirty blue jeans shirts are not in good repair so the staff professionalism does not exist

No one greeted us. After 20 minutes, hostess took our names, said nothing about the wait time, then disappeared, never to return. People who had eaten left. No one was seated. After half an hour, the room filled with hungry people, we all left and went to The Flume. Immediately seated, ordered in five minutes, eating in 15. Never going to ANY IHOP ever again!

I’ve been staying in Carlsbad NM for the past two days. First morning breakfast on Sunday, the restrooms were disgusting and the waitress took forever. She brought my order and forgot the toast. I had to ask a second time for it. Monday morning try it again. Took forever for the waitress to take our order. Same waitress ans Sunday. I ordered toast bacon and fruit bowl. Brought the order, toast bacon and gravy!!
I would not recommend this place just for the service alone.
Very disappointed.
