You have to really go out of your way and upset me to make me write a bad review, but this IHOP managed to do it.
Went here to have Breakfast on Saturday, October 15th, around 9AM. First red flag was the female manager who was yelling at all the staff in front of customers. She was INCREDIBLY RUDE to the staff.
We are sat, and our server, newer girl, I think her name started with a "C", had only been there for a couple weeks, was super nice. No problems with the service. She was new, and a bit slow, but that did not contribute to this negative review.
Honestly, the food was good as well. The kitchen also got the food out in a timely manner too. No problems there. The experience was ruined when that same female manager started berating staff loudly away from our table, but we had no problem hearing. My wife and I decided at this point it was time to leave, so we asked for our check, paid, and left. I didn't realize until we got back to our hotel that the server girl forgot to bring my credit card back to me.
We head back over, I go inside, and am now greeted by a male host. I mentioned that I was just in about 20 minutes ago, and our server forgot to return our card. He asks my name, I verify, and as he hands it back to me, and says in the rudest and most condescending tone I have ever heard: "Don't forget it next time", before turning to walk away so I couldn't even respond.
I don't feel like I should be made to feel insulted and ridiculed for something like this. We will be back to the Carlsbad area, but definitely won't be coming back to this IHOP.

I'm glad she wasn't my server. There was an elderly couple in the back of us ordering food and the server rudely interrupted them and told them to stop talking So she could write down their order the next 30 minutes was hearing her complain constantly. It was just a negative vibe We don't ever plan on coming back here.
The worst part is when the server Just goes on and on complaining to people as well as telling her guests to tip more.
Our eggs were undercut the bacon was burnt and our crepes were dry and gross. I'm hoping corporate can come and fix this place up It really needs it. It would take a miracle to fix this place up.

One of the best meals I have ever had at an IHOP. Valerie H was an awesome server and we appreciate the awesome meal before we head off to Carlsbad Caverns. Also this was my son's birthday breakfast so thank you for making it special! Thank you!

If I owned this restaurant, I would fire every lazy person claiming to work there. After waiting 15 minutes to be seated, the host informed us that there would be a long wait. They only have one cook. He followed up with how he didn’t want to hear any whining about how long the food would take. After sitting for 30 minutes, not one server had even taken our drink order. The restaurant was at 10% capacity! This is a joke. We left and went to the Pecos River Cafe where we were greeted with smiles and had our drinks and order in within 3 minutes. I absolutely suggest a short drive to better service.

Good food, better than most Ihops. I lost my credit card in the parking lot, which I discovered 30 min. later. They actually went outside and found it for me, held it till I got back, and saved my vacation! Thank you SO much!

Staff was friendly and service was timely, but meal was not to order. Did not have time to ask for things to be fixed and have something else go back to the kitchen to be cooked correctly.

Placed a to go order and waited an hour before leaving. A gentleman had been there 20 minutes before I arrived and also left. While waiting, some dine in folks were told it would be 20 minutes for coffee. 😬 Won't be returning to this location.

Visited June 23, 2019. Would give NO stars, but that's not an option. Waited to be sat nearly ten to fifteen minutes, not even acknowledged we were in the facility. . . There were 6 of us. There were only about five other tables being utilized. Took another ten minutes to get drinks and to order our food. Appeared to only be one server working. Two hostesses. . . Not sure their purpose, they were doing nothing! My son ordered a refill, after fifteen minutes (and still no meals on table) I went looking for the waitress. There was an employee sitting at a table refilling salt and pepper shakers. I get his attention and asked him if he could get our waitress. He acted as if he spoke no English, and then asked me to hold on. . . As he took ear buds out of both ears! Then asked me what I needed again. . . Still acting like he didn't understand the words, 'find my server my son wants his refill!'. He comes to our table and asked my son what kind of soda and if we need anything else. I ask him to check in our order. Again, acting like he doesn't fully understand, asked if we were ready to order. I told him we had ordered, where is it?!? He left. One of the hostesses brought back my sons Mt. Dew several more minutes later. I tell her I'm getting upset and want to know where out food is. . . Simply, it was two grilled cheese sandwiche kid meals, two chocolate chocolate chip pancake meals, a chicken fried steak meal and a bowl of soup with a side of fries. She says it's coming.
Literally an hour after ordering, we get grilled cheese sandwiches and the chicken fried steak, fries and soup. The steak and fries barely warm. We ask for catsup, never too be brought. . . Five minutes later, out comes ONE of the chocolate chocolate chip pancakes order. Center was uncooked batter and cold. Another five minutes, I head to the kitchen. One hostess and our waitress just chatting back there. After some frustration, I ask to speak to management. I'm told the manager went to the store, and our other pancakes are almost done. I go back to our table. The ear bud employee makes it back to our table to see if he can help. I ask if he's the manager. He says no, but kind of supervising. . . What ever that means. . .I tell him we are still waiting on sons meal. He, again like he doesn't understand, asked if he's ready to order. I am getting heated and told him in Spanish he is waiting for his food! Amazingly, he speaks English now! I tell him that we will not be paying for ANYTHING on the table, it will be comped. We still had to travel back to Lubbock and did not expect to wait an hour just to get our half ready meal. He says, is there a problem? I explain to him the mess and repeat that we are not paying for the meal. He tells me he'll see what he can do, and I repeat. . . NOTHING ON THIS TABLE IS GOING TO BILLED TO US, BUT RATHER COMPED! He leaves the table. He comes back with a nightmare of a plate of chocolate chocolate chip pancakes thrown on a plate and not even complete. He sets it down and said, will there be anything else? I look at the plate, at him, at the plate and at him again. . . In which he's lucky he didn't end up wearing the pancakes. I tell him, NOTHING is going to be paid for. He walks off. I tell the kids to go to the car. I get the phone number off the door and left a message. I got the phone number, see picture above, to call the owner. . . In which was a wrong number. I wait at the front to let them know, I am leaving and they are responsible for my meal. I tell another lady, who had a few kids in tow, she might want to rethink her discission to dine there. . . She had also not been acknowledged in the time they were waiting. Not a one of the employees would come to the front to see what I needed, and I was not going to walk out without them acknowledging me and why I'm not paying. . . No way am I taking a wrap for dinner and walk! They see me from the other kitchen entrance, and I wait. Finally, 'supervisor' comes out and asked if he can help me. I tell him I'm leaving, he says back, ok. Have a great day. HAVE A GREAT DAY?!?

This location is on the edge of town on your way to the caverns. They are understaffed and busy, but the restaurant was clean. It only took about 20 minutes to get the food. The blueberry pancakes were fresh and piled high. Our waitress was prompt and pleasant. Overall, worth the stop.

The worst cook ever dude looks like he has not showered in a week. I could not eat there knowing he was touching my food. Sweating all over, guess sanitary conditions is not a priority here im out.
