Love that this place is open until 9! Sometimes I have a hankering for a nice latté after all the other places close and don't feel like making one at home. The coffee is always good here. I just have to be careful with the specials because some of them are pretty sweet. The staff is always super cool with me modifying the amount of sugar in my drinks. The food here is also always good. I tend to go for the Pick Two with a sandwich and soup. This is a great neighborhood staple. My friends and I love meeting here! Ample seating, great place to do work/study, dine, whatever.

Best food I’ve ever had! And this place makes the best smoothies. I was having some issues, and Sophie a lovely lady who works here helped me out! She went out of her way to help me and work things out. This is my new favorite spot! It’s 35 minutes away from where I live but I will be making trips up here often! A very cute and lovely place to go to to relax. Thank you Sophie! And thank you everyone there♥️

Beautiful & cozy feeling cafe that offer delicious coffee drinks, milk shakes & foods! There’s plenty of space both indoor and outdoor. Customers are able to call and make a reservation on a meeting room ahead of time!
The coffees are so delicious! Ps: try out they lavender latte !!
They offer drive thru order for customer who want to get coffee to go. There’s limited parking space and it’s a bit hard to maneuver in or out of the parking space.

Great coffee and sandwiches! Orange zest was a little too large for my taste (sorry to be stingy!) but the flavor of the Cafe Borgia was really great. The staff was friendly and kind.

Great place always.... we booked the meeting room for my daughter's birthday. The food was good (I had a delicious salad) other then the PB&J tasted like they had made it the day before or something. We love that they have that option, but my daughter wouldn't eat it because she said it was bad.... I tried it and it wasn't great... otherwise it's just a fun atmosphere with lunch style food.

We've been back twice in the last month and something has changed for the better! If the trend continues I'll move back to 5 stars.

Downgrading to 1 star on same visit as below -
Got both drink orders wrong
Asked where we were sitting and left food on counter - they don't bring it to the table any more?
Grilled cheese was awful - overcooked and rubbery/chewy

Something has changed since this summer. I don't know if it's due to staff being back in school or a recent change in management, but they're all checked out and apathetic. This used to be an amazing example of Smokey Row and now we only come here when the other locations are closed. I would suggest visiting their other locations before this one if possible.
Downgrade to 3 stars:
We were there last night, and while the food and coffee is still amazing, the service wasn't. We were leaving around 8:40 and I stood at the counter for several minutes as I needed a refill. Staff was busy and I understand that, but the entire time I stood there none of the 4 staff behind the counter looked at me, acknowledged me, or made eye contact letting me know they would assist as soon as possible. I felt very unappreciated as a patron and decided to leave after about 5 minutes with no interaction. I would recommend one of the other locations in the Metro area or Ankeny which is always phenomenal.
Great restaurant highly recommended. Food, staff and atmosphere are phenomenal.
Oh....and amazing ice cream!

The historic building gives it a sense of place. Good coffee, good food, nice staff. Tons of seating. Really appreciate that it's open later than most coffee shops. Great place to work on projects/study.

My wife and I have been here a lot of times to get breakfast and hot drinks. Took the kids here for the first time yesterday for a dinner.
I would recommend their breakfast foods and the drinks here, as well as their dessert options.
I got their BBQ burger yesterday, my wife got the chicken pot pie, the kids got a cheeseburger and a PB&J. I also got a caramel shake.
The kids and my wife enjoyed their food. My burger was alright, but the meat patty was definitely well done, and a bit dry; it tasted a lot like a school cafeteria burger, in fact, and wasn't super great. The shake was fantastic, though.
Overall, they are quite good, and though I wasn't a huge fan of the burger, I would recommend this place for breakfast, coffee or hot chocolate and other food options.

Yum soda, good coffee, could do with the list of syrup flavors on their drive thru menu instead of the pick up window because I cant find that list anywhere online and I feel like such a burden asking for the nice order taker to recite the list to me.

First of all you are marketing you serve kettle chips like they are homemade. You are selling bags of plain potatoes chips with every meal. Very misleading and disappointing. Your chicken salad tasted like pure sugar. I feel like you really need to change your menu and add to say bags of potato chips. To me that seems false advertising.
