Had seen Blue Spring Cafe's signs for Mile High Pies or Foot High Pies for at least 20 years but had never stopped. Was traveling with another couple and I mentioned Mile High Pies and they said yes. Servers and cashiers are friendly. Service is family style - rolls, pickled beets, Cole slaw, mashed potatoes, and gravy come in bowls for the table. Two of us got the walleye, one got ham steak, I got lasagna. All portions were huge and everyone took home something (as did half the people at the next table over). The walleye was good reheated the next day on parchment paper at 350 in a convection oven for 10 minutes. The lasagna was mediocre reheated in a microwave oven. The other couple got a slice of blackberry pie to split while the spouse and I split a slice of blueberry - tasty! We had had choices of about 12-14 different pies to pick from. Be forewarned - cash only - no debit/credit cards.

We were passing through on our way back to Indiana. My daughter saw the sign Foot High Pies. She got really excited. So went to investigate to our surprise. Those pies were huge meringue and filling stood up a foot high. Decided to eat there, had the crab cakes very good. My daughter had the cod cooked to perfection. Will return. Thanks Pierron/Highland I'll. Please visit. Don't forget to buy a pie or two. Blueberry sweet and buttery. My family and I will definitely make this establishment our go-to when heading to STL. Great service.
Sorry no photos. Come see for yourself.

We were just traveling through and stopped for some pie and they did not disappoint.

I got the warm pecan chocolate chip pie. If you can imagine the best chocolate goey brownie you've ever tasted, add the pecan crust with ice cream on top woohoo it was so good!

Very worth the price! Delicious food, great service with a smile! Our first time dining with Blue Springs and hopefully we will get to return some time on the way through again!

I got the lunch special with fried chicken and mashed potatoes. It was super hot and freshly fried -- it was soooo yum!! The mashed potatoes and gravy were also homemade and from scratch and perfectly cooked. I also purchased a whole coconut cream meringue pie and that was another showstopper that looked even better than it tasted! I can't wait to drive thru again to make it a regular stop.

Just be sure to bring cash. They don't accept cards.

THE BEST FOOD I'VE EVER HAD!

Pies are homemade with whipped meringue, Heavenly and delicious!

Fried Chicken was tasty through and through, flavorful, moist, fresh and delicious.

Country Fried Stake was golden and crispy to perfection, don't forget the white gravy.

Meal complete with unlimited outstanding sides, home made mashed potatoes, fresh picked green beans, light and tasty cole slaw, and so much more!

MUST STOP!

LOOK NO FURTHER than the Blue Spring Cafe.

It's like Grandma's Homecooking with all the accoutrements.

Lovely experience and best wait staff ever.

We saw the sign for Foot High Pie and had to come. We got 2 banana slices to go and they were delicious! Keep in mind this is a cash place, the lady allowed me to venmo her. Definitely will be back when traveling this route!

Stopped through on a road trip after always seeing the signs and that they were featured on the Food Network. Didn’t see signs anywhere about it being cash only, which was mildly inconvenient. Ended up placing an order to go and the food was extremely bland and had zero flavor. We also got a pie, but the entire crust was just soggy and the bottom was filled with liquid. Not appetizing at all. Probably won’t come back after that experience.

Love eating there. Food is always good & staff is fantastic. Love the pies. Just wish I lived closer. They take cash or checks only.

Excellent food and service. Gives a country grandma homestyle vibe. The bell pepper soup is amazing! Must try! Fair warning: bring cash or check. ATM is available for a $3.50 fee.
