The "foot-high pie" and "as seen on Food Network" billboards got me as I was traveling along. Cute spot, but the waiter wasn't very enthused I was only getting pie and a cup of coffee. The banana cream (and other meringue pies) is beautiful! But a bit too sweet for my tastes. Really nice selection of fruit pies available, as well. $10 for pie, coffee and tip wasn't too bad, I guess, in 2019. Wish I had loved it, but I even though I didn't I would give them another shot to try a meal based on this go.

Stopped here on way to Saint Louis for lunch. A lot of people but not packed. Seating was not hard to get. Place is extremely clean. The food came out fresh and hot in no time at all. The price was good for the portions. Staff was pleasant. I would recommend eating here and I would stop again.

Consistently Good... Fried Chicken is Excellent... Food served family style, so their is plenty to Eat... Great Service too...

Lovely french fries! Had some fried walleye which was excellent. The pies are amazing. There's no competition around the area but if there were, this place would be on top. Deducted one star due to cash/check only...

Never a bad meal! From the family style to you just walked into grandmas house vibes, this place is a hidden gem!

The food was great. A simple BLT for me and an Open Face Roast Beef dinner for spouse... Then, the PIE. Delicious and very kind servers.
Ended up buying a pie for those were visiting in KC. Thanks for making our visit special.

Famous for their Mile High Meringue Pie. It did not disappoint. The fried chicken was excellent. Hot and moist with just the right amount of crust.

Stopped here on a recommendation from my mother who had traveled this road from Oklahoma to New England years ago. We did some research! FANTASTIC previous reviews and even a highlight on The Food Network! All lunches were $7.95! I had the Chicken Fried Steak! I am a meat and potatoes kind of girl and the Mashed Potatoes and white gravy just topped it off perfectly! I would have wanted another half serving of each and given up stomach space reserved for dessert it was so good BUUUUUT I didn't have room for extra helpings or dessert! My husband, however, had the Lemon Meringue pie and enjoyed every bite (He ALWAYS has room for pie)!

We had great food! Didn't take long to receive. Not crazy about beets but my friend enjoyed. Thought my meatloaf, green beans, gravy, and mashed potatoes were super good. Would go back.
