A must stop for pie off of 70. I have stopped here the last 5 times I have gone cross country and it is also awesome.

All their food is good, homemade meals. They offer a variety of pies that do not disappoint. Our serve was very friendly and attentive. We'll go back, for sure!

Awesome home made food and the atmosphere is very home like.
The pies are no joke! They are HUGE slices.

Cute little country restaurant with old time decor. The sides are all fresh. I got the beets and they were great. The walleye was meh…. It was over cooked and dry. My husband got the chicken sandwich. He said it was good but nothing special. But the pies!!! Omg!! Mile high on the meringue topping. The chocolate is rich and smooth. My husband got the pecan and said it was great. The restrooms are clean We would eat there again.

Nice atmosphere. This is one of those little gems that is only a stone throw from I 70 at Perrion. They were very friendly and with your main entree you get all you can eat mashed potatoes, gravey, beets, coleslaw, green beans, biscuits with apple butter spread.I was wondering how come everyone was getting to go containers and I found out why,the portions were huge. This is the home of the Mile High Pies also.
If you have a chance to go there it is worth every penny. 😊😊

With family in south central Indiana and KCMO, this is a convenient, restful place to stop with the best home made food halfway between the two places. Delicious entrees and family sides. It’s like visiting Grandma’s kitchen.

Oh yes, the foot high pies. Absolutely delicious.

I’ve probably been here 60 times in the past 15 years.

They also do call ahead and takeout orders 😁

Suggestion: either fortify yourself before facing St. Louis traffic or recover afterwards. 😉

Suggestion,

A good diner just off I-70 with home style meals at a good price and excellent pies!

We stopped in on our way home just to get their foot high pie. In their chocolate pie they added the mini size chocolate chips and that we delicious. The next pie I make at home I will add.

The pictures just do not do justice to these pies.
The meringue pies (we had lemon and chocolate,) are piled high with soft, fluffy, gently toasted meringue.
The filling is thick and flavorful. Just like Grandma and Mom used to make from scratch.
The staff is professional, personable and welcoming.
Definitely a place to stop and dine.

Loved the chicken and dumplings --- perfect for a cold winter day. The pickled beets were amazing - I've never thought to spice them with apple cider and cinnamon. The apple butter is extremely flavorful as well! The portions are huge and the prices are affordable. I have so many leftovers.
