Stopped in after reading the reviews. Ordered a dinner, a sandwich and two pies.

Our dinner was small and cold. I ordered fish, with was two small pieces of rebreaded frozen fillets-tasteless, fries and side was ok.

Rueben was not corned beef - it was roast beef - maybe kitchen issue but waitress didn’t seem interested in fixing it.

Pies were definitely not “mile high”. Both were ok. Had two cream pies with meringue. Both not refrigerated. So the meringue was runny and a little gross. Filling was just ok. Crust was thick but flavorless.

Place looked clean, bathroom was cleanish, the restaurant itself had a barn yard odor though. We just couldn’t get past the pasture smell. We didn’t stay long. Ate and left. Pricey for what we got.

There are plenty of other joints along I70. My suggestion….keeping going, hard pass on this one.

Wonderful stop when traveling I-70 with excellent food & extremely friendly service! My husband & I first stopped here over a decade ago, and remembered a fantastic family style meal. We finally had an opportunity to stop again today (Jan 2, 2023) with our 3 tween/teens, and it was every bit as good as we remembered.

My fried chicken was amazing, and my family reports the lasagna, chicken & dumplings, and country fried steak to also be excellent. The sides are all great, with mashed potatoes and green beans very much home-style. My teens were huge fans of the biscuits & apple butter. I’m sure the pie will be delicious, although we were all so full that we took it to-go.

We very much enjoyed our stop at Blue Springs Cafe! This was a great way to start off our 2023 travels!

Wow!!
Great home/ "family style" service, cooking, & eating.
Only 50-75 cars in the lot, yet no wait, still room for another table of 3.
Ordered 3 meals to go, plus us three & drinks = about $150 + tip

This place was so charming and beautiful! The staff were very prompt and the food was spectacular! I highly recommend the friend chicken!

Great pie! We didn’t eat a full meal but everything we saw looked good!

Best cod & walleye around. The family style dinner is great! Oreo cheesecake was to die for. Unfortunately, it's not served daily. I was lucky to get it a couple of times in the past. They used to sometimes serve cheesecake on the weekends, but I haven't seen any in months, so maybe they stopped. I'm not a pie person, but I hear the pies are great!

This is my go to for fried chicken. Everything is always cooked fresh to order and the family style is my favorite. The mashed potatoes and gravy I literally crave at least once a month. My son loves the fried walleye and tried the fried livers today as an appetizer and man everything they have is delicious. Great service, staff is always super friendly. I have been going here for 20 plus years.

I’ve had the opportunity to visit this place twice in the last month, and it has been great both times. Great diner food including Meatloaf, and Catfish, and my favorite Fried Clams.

But the start of the show is there selection of Pies. I had one of the so called “Foot High Pies” a coconut meringue topped pie the first time, and opted for a traditional Peach or the serving time. Both were great.

I’ll definitely be back.

Our meal was very good; however, we were with a large group and the restaurant wasn’t very busy. The staff stood near our table after we were done eating and made us feel like we should leave. They need to be told that it came across as quite rude. We were out of the restaurant an hour before it closed, so we weren’t keeping them there by our wanting to visit with each other.

The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the staff is friendly. The food we were served looked delicious, but it was barely even warm and did not have much flavor. The side salad I was served was half brown looking lettuce that had obviously sit around for a while. To top it off, they only accept cash or check, which they dont tell you until after you've ordered and eaten. So you must use their high fee ATM to pay with cash.

Overall I highly recommend to avoid this scammy place.
