Tip Top Motel, Cafe, And Bakery

Edit: Returned, had oxtail soup, was amazing. If you like pho, try the oxtail.

We recently visit here for breakfast. tiptop is one of the orginal local dinner place here in kauai. All food here are local recipes. and all ono 😋. We were so lucky no lines that day. we had beefstew and the famous ox tail soup. its always so good and always same taste never fail to make us full 😅. and it so memorable because me and my friends always go here 😊

The breakfast is great I got the moco loco got a big portion of amazingness.

It was very good stayed for me. I took 4 days in Kauai for my bday get away and stayed at this motel. It's very central to everything. 1 hour drive to Hanalei and Waimea. Great ac in the room. Very basic but comfortable. I enjoyed my 4 night stay. Try thier oxtail soup!!!!!

This place is efficient. You come in and find a spot. They wheel out a Rubbermaid cart with you drinks and napkins. They take your order and 5 minutes later, food is on the table.

We were in and out in 20 minutes!!!!

This motel is one of the most affordable on the island of Kauai, HI. The reason is that it does not have any interesting activities or attractions on the property except a very popular with local people restaurant. And, i think, it is a very positive thing. This island has so many attractions in every corner that it is an embarrassment, in my view, to waste a precious time sitting inside the hotel most of the day even though some other hotels have a lot to offer. This motel has all basic things you might need. It is clean and well managed. Of course, there are some instances of inconvenience as in any other hotel. For example, your neighbors might stand next to your room and loudly talking during the evening time not realizing that someone might be already sleeping because of the early flight. And, it seems they talk but do not hear each other and there is no end to it. Otherwise, it is an enjoyable place to stay. Save money on hotel and spend more time outdoors.

My Loco moco wasn't bad. A busy place with a wait and lots of locals so they have been doing a lot of things right.

We had oxtail soup and macadamia/banana pancakes there. The food was pretty good until a cockroach run through the table. It ruined whole experience. When I showed it to the waitress, she said they will give us 50% discount for one dish 😂

We were recommended to breakfast at Tip Top, as it's a local favorite. We were very pleasantly surprised and ended up going to breakfast here twice on our trip. The first day I had a local favorite of Loco Moco and it was very good! The second trip I had the egg with bacon and two pancakes. The eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly and the pancakes were delicious. The servers were efficient but not too friendly, but they got the orders correct and delivered the food quickly. If you're in Kauai and looking for a great breakfast, try Tip Top!

This review is for the motel. For the star level (two stars), the motel exceeded expectations, hence the four star rating. The rooms were simple, yet extremely clean and comfortable. The shower had low water pressure, and the shower head was low on the wall, which is annoying for taller folks. As with most places on the island, chickens and roosters made noise throughout the night, which could be heard in the room. If you are looking for a good budget option in Lihue, I recommend this motel.
