One of the best deals on the island. Best Oxtail soup. Newly remodeled rooms. Very clean, efficient rooms. Family owned with long time loyal employees. My air conditioner stopped working and was replaced by the time I returned from lunch. Well priced cafe including excellent sushi restaurant in the evenings with the freshest fish in Hawaii !

Apparently they've closed. Permanently. No tables. No chairs. No sign saying they were closed. Bummer.

The motel is nothing fancy, but was perfect for an inexpensive place to rest my head after a backpacking trip on the island. Rooms were very clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable (at least after 4 nights on the ground!), and I had no issues. Much nicer than a more expensive hostel I stayed at in Kapa'a. We also enjoyed breakfast at the cafe in the morning, good food and good service! I'll certainly stay here again as a home base for future outdoor adventures on Kauai.

I did a solo trip, and stayed here for 4 days. The hotel was clean and relaxing. It's not an 4 star hotel, but I felt safe. The restaurant was a bonus. Great breakfast!

The pancakes are delicious. Was disappointed at the small amount of portugese sausage received. Overall the service and food were excellent.

We checked in late for our one night stay so office was closed and we could not change the room. We found 3 cockroaches and could only catch one to kill it. The next day we complained to the lady at the counter and she was going to get us help but the Manager did not contact us. We said we are coming back the following week and did not want to if our room then would maybe have an issue. We asked when they spray and if they can assure us our room will be ok. So now we are back here in a different building and again COCKROACHES!!!!

Do not recommend reservations due to typical Kauai attitude of no refunds even in event of late plane connections beyond our control. Very set in their ways. I even called out of courtesy to notify but got typical response of no refund. Will NOT consider using them again.

Just doesn't feel safe during Covid. One big unventilated room with windows shut and shaded. Some booths. Packed with happy locals, some in big family groups. When we saw the room we turned around and had a fine meal outside at the relaxed Aloha Craft Cafe off Rice street.

At 7:30am, there was a line out the door - usually a good sign! Place is set up pretty old school style. We waited about 15min to secure a seat (socially distanced), and began our adventure. We tried the loco Moco, oxtail soup, and a banana pancake. All were so delicious. Sometimes loco Moco can be too salty to try and achieve richness. In this case, the gravy was rich yet not salty. The oxtail soup came with a generous number of oxtails to pick on, though I didn't think the soup was as thick/rich as oxtail soup usually is. The banana pancake was deliciously fluffy and bananas perfectly caramelized from the pan. Definitely worth a try!

Ox tail soup was great. Tons of flavour. Country fried chicken was as expected. Good taste, nice portion but noting to write home about. Atmosphere is not necessarily what tourists are looking for but if you need some grub it will certainly do.
