I stayed here for a weekend vacation, and although I didnt spend a lot of time at the actual hotel, it was beyond pleasant! The room was clean and nice, and we stayed nice and cool all the time as the nice ocean breeze blew into our room. The bed was very comfortable and the decor was modern and simple. This is a great spot to start out from for the rest of your vacay!

My husband and I spent a week at ISO in January. Guest room cleanliness was a negative, but otherwise we enjoyed our stay. Maids tidied the beds, but otherwise there was no room service/room cleaning during our stay. Floors were dirty, bathroom was dirty, cleanliness of bedding was questionable, and fridge was broken. What we liked about the hotel was complimentary yoga, complimentary bikes, daily breakfast, location, and views.

Good hotel but a bit overpriced (like every accomidation on this island). Rooms are clean, bathrooms a bit small. I loved the fire place. Also it is wonderful to hear the sea and see the sunrise while being in your room.
Breakfast...well... For a European who loves breakfasts it is less than OK. But I think for an American breakfast it is okay (serves toast with jelly, muffins, cereals, an apple...).

Spent a week at the ISO. The staff was extremely friendly. The price point for our stay was wonderful. We had a walkout room that had a view of the pool and ocean. Fell asleep to the sound of the waves every night. In the morning there was yoga at 6:30 and each room was provided mats to participate. The grounds were well taken care of. The hotel has recently gone through a make over and the improvements show. It is located in Lihue which allows you to quickly get the the north or south side of Kauai. Plenty of great dining and entertainment options close by. Also if you want to stay in, there is a community fire pit to gather around. We would stay here again if we came to the island.

Nice and clean hotel. Convinient location that is close to everything.
It is a bit away from the main road and all windows are placed towards the ocean.
The adjacent restaurant makes some noise in the evening on the weekends but after 9pm it is usually quite. There is no laundry at the location, so simply take more t-shirts with you.

Today I have checked in at the hotel. I made the reservation and prepayed the whole charge. Unfortunately there was no information about the resort fee of $ 25 per day. They told me that It was mandatory and charged me $ 147.50 extra. I think the resort fee was not made clear to me at the time of booking. It's a dishonest and deceptive business practice. The hotel must inform clearly the condictions at the moment of the booking. I did no like their policy.

The resort area is nice, good pool, restaurant. The complimentary breakfast is pretty basic, and the Keurig machine they have is painfully slow. The rooms are nicely furnished, but there is no AC, and the ceiling fan we had rattled incessantly.

This is a very clean, no frills, right on the beach hotel. The staff is very friendly and the views are fantastic. The breakfast is free and includes yoghurt, toast, mini muffins, cereal, juice and coffee and it runs for 3 hours. The large grounds are well-kept and the only negative is that patrons of the Bull Shed restaurant (attached to hotel) let their kids run amok on the grass while the parents stay inside where it is quiet. Security will ask the super noisy ones to be quiet. Other than that you rarely see anyone use the generous out door space.

My original review shared some disappointment at the room we were given… As it was not the oceanfront room we had paid for and instead faced the noisy swimming pool with a tree obstructing the view of the ocean. The second clerk we talked to was more than happy to switch us to a different room and it transformed our stay into 100% positive. All is very well now and we are more than happy to highly recommend the ISO as well as stay here again ourselves. We appreciate that the second clerk was empathetic and accommodating.

Let me start by saying that the room itself is simple. However, the hotel location is great. My room overlook the pool with a direct view of the ocean. This is the kind of hotel you go to get away from technology and the nuisances of the city life to read a good book while sunbathing at the pool. The staff at the hotel are polite and helpful. And within walking distance there are plenty of places to go out for a meal. I really enjoyed my time at the Mokihana.
