The ISO is not a pretentious hotel. The rooms.arw fairly basic, but they are clean and comfortable. The bathroom is large with a shower/tub combo and the beds are so comfortable! The balcony views are amazing and the location is breathtaking! Walking distance to many restaurants and shops and a very short drive to many shopping, hiking and beaches!

With hotel rates in Kauai being as insane as they are, we were happy to find something near the airport that is a bit more reasonable and yet we’ll reviewed. The ISO is a motel that was given a facelift, and if that is acceptable than you will not complain. It is clean, by the water though the beach is hard to access and almost impossible to swim in because of the coral rocks.
All rooms are accessed from the outside like a motel. There are no elevators, like a motel. The breakfast, if you get there early, includes some store-bought pastries, yogurt and some cereal. There are some refrigerated drinks and maybe some sliced fruit. A major missing breakfast item is coffee.
We enjoyed our stay, the staff was nice. You can access a lot of nearby restaurants just remember it is a motel and nothing more.

Overpriced for what it is. Although it’s described as a resort / hotel, there isn’t the usual services you expect. The building is very old, looks like a motel and has no lift. You have to carry your own heavy luggages up. The breakfast provided is just granola bars and box cereal. There is no daily housekeeping services, only upon request. Very no frills and the room carpet felt dirty from being very old.

First and foremost the view from the room was stunning. A lot of other things not so much unfortunately. But let's start with the positives, the room was great, high ceiling, clean, stylish, amazing view. Plenty of free parking spaces. There was a free yoga class in the morning and free bikes to use. In the area are plenty of restaurants and shopping opportunities. Now to the not so positive things:
    - there is no coffee at breakfast (they told us that we have a coffee maker in the room, either I wasn't skilled enough or it was broken, but no coffee for us)
    - our room (L7) was above the restaurant, they had live music in the restaurant, which must be lovely, but not so much when you're in your room and try to talk or watch tv or do anything. It felt like the band was playing in our room. At least it stopped at 9pm sharp.
    - they won't let you store your suitcases at the hotel after check-out, which was a bit inconvenient as our flight was a red eye, so we had to leave the bags in the car
In the end it was a great stay with some flaws, but still would recommend it, if you like music or else get another room than L7.

We had nothing bad to say about this hotel! Just a few things to consider if you are wanting to book.

Hotel is in the middle of the island so it’s in a good location. Walkable to Safeway and Starbucks, which are both a 5 min walk across the hotel. You are able to see the ocean from your balcony, which was nice to see in the morning.

This hotel did have AC, which was a plus. Good size tv and a mini fridge. No microwave in room but you can use one in the lobby. There is no vents in the bathroom, but you can crack open the bathroom window. It was windy when we were there so we had good ventilation in the bathroom. Shower had good pressure and hot water.

Hotel staff was nice when we checked in. You can get filtered water in the lobby and they give you water bottles that are yours to keep. Their breakfast was all to go stuff like yogurt, milk, cereal, and danish bread. Nothing warm.
Wifi was pretty fast so that was a plus.

Overall, we would definitely stay here again, esp for the price. It’s a good place to stay if you’re just needing to sleep and maybe have a few hours of downtime.

We had a one night stay (we are on the island for 3 weeks and had a 1 day gap) and we’re able to check in early (1:00 pm vs. the normal 3:00 pm). Our room on the second floor at the end of the second building is nice & clean and has a great view of the ocean. Double beds and a small bathroom, mini fridge and coffee maker, a large TV and multiple USB ports on the lamps and the small clock. The balcony was nice and has two chairs (not very comfortable for long stays) and a small table. The Grab & Go breakfast was okay, considering what the pandemic has done to normal communal breakfasts. We also “rented at no charge” a couple of bikes for a half hour trip on a nearby path. The staff are friendly and efficient in their tasks. A nice “ boutique” hotel with great views!

Only negative comment would be about the chickens that are everywhere! The roosters are doing their thing all day and night and it becomes annoying very quickly, but it seems to be part of the Hawaiian experience these days.

It is a decent hotel with beach front and a nice pool. We checked in late and there was only one person on staff there. There were some issues with the room we eventually figured out on our own. They do provide a grab and go breakfast, but it is not very good.😞mostly sugary things.

The ISO is fantastic and centrally located boutique hotel suited for the adventurous Kauai visitor or local staycationer. The rooms are cozy, breezy and clean and the beds were amazingly comfortable. The well-maintained grounds are Sunrise Central, one of the best spots to catch the Kauai sunrise. The Complimentary goodies were great; In room coffee was bomb, Bikes for the adjacent bike path, grab-and-go breakfast treats, and the Flowater water filter was key for filling our flasks before setting off for the dayʻs adventure. The staff are lifetime local, helpful, and extremely knowledgable of the island, canʻt say the same of some of the mega-hotels weʻve stayed in. The ISO is hard to beat in terms in location as it is 20 minutes from the airport and about equal lengths from the North Shore and South/West shores. Walking distance to Safeway, Starbucks, and some great restaurants like Monicoʻs, Kenji Burger, and of course the Bull Shed which is on property. Canʻt recommend it the ISO enough.

We had our flight until 10 pm and we ask how much will cost for staying 7-8 more hours in our room until our flight leave
And they charge $10 an hour after 12 noon
I pay around 70 dollar extra.

    very happy with that.

We wanted a third floor king bed room but if you read the fine print there is no guarantee on your room, so we ended up with a king in the old part second floor with barely if you stand in the corner on the balcony a view of the ocean, because. Of palm trees. So don’t get L1 L2 L3 rooms unless you want to look at a roof and through trees. No phones and bring big garbage sacks there garbage cans are no bigger than a ice bucket, we took our garbage to the lobby but they said to set it outside our door on the walkway. The staff was very kind. And they seam to be working hard at trying to upgrade the buildings.
