I had the crab stuffed Mahi. Probably the best meal I have had in a long time. The chef is very talented and the combination of flavors was amazing!
My wife had the grouper and it was fabulous. The salad was fresh with a very nice house dressing. All in all an outstanding meal. Bravo!
Not to mention the location. We ate outside on the 3rd floor and the view is wonderful.
I would suggest that you make a point of going, you won't be disappointed.

Sat outside, nice view of course but were seated at a 2 top against the wall and felt like we were in a sardine can. Either too many tables or too small a space. My wife and I order calamari any time we see it on the menu. Have had great calamari (Connors Steakhouse, Dry Dock on LBK) have had good to so so calamari many places, had by far the worst calamari here. We barely touched it which speaks volumes and if you are wondering no the server did not ask if there was a problem when they took the almost full plate away. My wife had the fish and chips and the fish and the breading had zero flavor like it was plain flour no seasonings (but it was not greasy at least). The blackened grouper sandwich I had was good hence the 2 stars instead of 1. Wanted to try this place and now we have.

Nice place with a cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff. Good food and drinks to match.

We were party of 7. After waiting for about 45 minutes for our order to come, all of us were very disappointed with food quality. Even their special house salad with chicken was tasteless, chicken dry. Fish was rubbery, no seasoning, no flavor. The prices are high - on par with gourmet restaurant while food was McDonald taste and quality. Music was too loud so we can barely hear each other. One start for great view and good service. We asked to speak with manager but he/she never showed up. Just wondering how did they get such a high score in reviews. We'll never go there again.

be the change

the hostess just stared at us when we arrived. weird. food was good but a little pricey. no textiles in the bars/restaurants, so it was incredibly loud and echoey. we will return to the tiki bar, but not the new building.

The Point’s food is good and the view is amazing but the service must improve. First, When we checked in, they did not have our reservation on record. When we showed our reservation confirmation, the greeter was confused. They, nevertheless, seated us.

With Covid infections increasing, the staff had no masks. Our server, in particular, without a mask, leaned across our table multiple times to serve drinks and food. He leaned on our table as he was taking our orders. We put on our masks, but he did not reciprocate.

The staff never removed empty plates that piled up during the entire time we were there so we stacked them to conserve table space. We had a very uncomfortable and curious couple of hours. It was a very strange experience from beginning to end. This was our third trip to The Point, and I Expect that, until the staff are better trained, we will frequent the tiki bar, instead.

The hostess was unfriendly and it went downhill from there. Table wasn’t wiped off (as mentioned in review from one month ago). I asked waiter and he ignored so I went to hostess stand to get cleaner. Waiter didn’t know what the vegetables of the day was. Herbed chicken breast was delicious but no risotto as advertised on the menu and the mixed vegetables were cut, walked through a warm room, and served raw. Had to ask two servers before we could get salt and pepper. No attempt was made to refill water glasses. Overall very disappointed as I told manager who replied “I apologize for the avalanche of problems.” We live in Osprey and think we might try it again in another year.

I've struggled to choose a star for this review because there was so much positive...but the negative almost made us leave. I had made a reservation for 4 adults to be seated on the outside on the "rail", and called to reconfirm the day prior. When we arrived (early), we were walked out to the patio on the 3rd floor and seated by the glass, and inside table on the outside. I noticed a table that was open on the rail and asked to be seated there...the hostess (who was rude thru the entire event) told me it was set for 5... I explained that we reserved the rail and she said, let me check something. She comes back and said we have a table on the rail on the second floor. We went down, and the wind was gusting so bad that NO ONE was sitting on the patio, and there was no way we could eat out there......... the hostess on the second floor was super super nice, and I explained about the table for 5 upstairs, and she said "please let me see what I can do for you". She comes back down, and says "you can have that table upstairs and we will just remove the extra chair. The point is, it was a table for 4 with a chair on the end, and could have easily seated the 4 of us.... but the 3rd floor waitress was not having it. In addition, one of the people in our party was walking with a walker and had to go up and down 3 times before we were seated. She was rude and after we were seated, kept walking by as to see how long we were going to sit there... We had a fabulous waitress,, and the food was amazing as always... but I would not be telling the truth if I didn't say that the actions of that one hostess on the 3rd floor really put a bad taste in my mouth for The Point. I will certainly give them another try, but if the Owner reads these comments, he should be aware of the poor attitude of the 3rd floor dark haired hostess that was working on Friday night 10/29.

Meh. Went for lunch and sat inside because of exterior construction noise, but the view was nice which earns 3 stars on its own. When the hostess couldn't be bothered to smile at us, I should have listened to instinct and left. Oh well, she managed 3 words, "inside or outside" then led us to our table. Decor is non-existent, but I guess they want you to focus on the water view. Waitress was pleasant but didn't bother to volunteer the daily specials, so we had to ask. Limited menu, unless you want a sandwich or salad since those are basically the only lunch options. Lobster roll was too acidic and dry to enjoy. The French fries were the highlight of the meal, and I am not really a French fry person. Husband had a Mahi sandwich, which was moderate at best. The non-smiling hostess was also responsible for "sanitizing" the tables between customers, and if her towel touched more than 1/3 of the table surface, I would be amazed. Great for tourists, maybe, but we won't bother going back.

Great view but the bathrooms are always a wreck!! Its horrible!! What does kitchen look like??? No hook for women's purses. For a upscale "Sarasota on the water" restaurant its pretty sad!! Not 1 employee can clean the bathroom??? Smh... its sad really. You can do better
