The Point kitchen + cocktails + sunset

I really had high hopes for this place. I got the lobster Mac & cheese which really wasn't Mac and cheese nor lobster. The Mac and cheese had cold Shredded cheese sprinkled on top and the base sauce was more of a fish sauce then it was cheese. When I got my order I was surprised to see how much lobster was on my entree for the price, but when biting into it I knew it wasn't all lobster and it had to be some type of imitation lobster or crab 🤢. The entree was really fishy and was not able to enjoy it.

My wife and I ordered 2 cups of soup for lunch along with a grouper sandwich. One cup of soup came over an hour after we sat down and ordered. The other cup of soup which was clam chowder didn’t come with it and the waiter said they were still cooking it. Can’t imagine that clam chowder for lunch isn’t already prepared or ready to be served. Cesar salad that was ordered by our friends didn’t have dressing. Grouper sandwich that didn’t come with onion as promised was good but extremely small and expensive. We had asked for French fries with the sandwich but instead got coleslaw. Unfortunately, it’s not a place I would recommend at this time. The waiter was pleasant but definitely handicapped by at least what was happening in the kitchen. It may be that they are short staffed but it definitely was ridiculous!!

Had a dinner with friends last night may 29th around 6pm
The food was very average tasting so was the drink.
Service was one of the worst in the area.
Sat outside on second floor. We were served by one of the bartenders.
He was inattentive, rude and obnoxious
At first I thought he was just tired but watching him more I realized that he is just uneducated and Ill-mannered person who should not be serving. While he was taking our orders he put his leg up on one of the chairs next to my husband, hanging over us like that, and one of the phrases he threw my way was “I have no idea what you just said”
Took forever to get anything and we had to chase the bartender around to get our check.
Unlikely to support this “restaurant” or recommend to anyone else.
Just not something I’d say I was happy to spend almost $200 for

Arrived at 5:45 for a 6:00 reservation. Food arrived at 8:20. Never in my entire life have I been served a meal that I took one bite of and realized it was not edible. I ordered the Thursday night prime rib "special". It was so tough I couldn't cut it with a knife, let alone chew it. The waitress was horrible. The only thing good about this place was the sunset view, but they don't deserve credit for that. Would never go back to this place.

We went to The Point for a Saturday night dinner. The staff is friendly and professional. The access to the restaurant is easy even for disabled. The restaurant is light, bright & clean in appearance with a lovely view of the bay and sunset. However, we did have to request menus after being seated for some time. The orders came out slowly, even the requested bread and butter. As for the entrees themselves - first the Chilean Sea Bass dinner - it was executed correctly, the vegetables were very good, the fish was tasty, the fish portion was small. The crab cakes were ordered by another member of our group, and when I asked how they were, the answer was just okay. As for the scallop dinner - it was supposed to have 6 but 4 was it. The server did not follow up with asking the customers if they would like drinks, some asked for a cocktail but he did not say anyone else? Maybe the fact of a guaranteed 20% gratuity made the server a bit lax? So, it is a mixed review I leave. We had an experience with negatives and positives, so that is why 3 stars. Not a total liss, but not any wow factor for yhe money either.

Sadly, this was our most favorite restaurant until tonight. We have dined here many times and always thoroughly enjoyed the service, food and atmosphere at The Point. We made tonight's reservation 2 weeks ago since our dear friends were planning to visit us for the weekend. Instead of a wonderful dining experience like we were accustomed to, it was a disaster. We ordered appetizers and specifically asked our server to hold our dinner order so that we would not be rushed and have ample time to enjoy our appetizers. Instead, our dinner arrived within 10 minutes of getting our appetizers - we were not even half finished eating them! I told our server how disappointed we were and he apologized saying he never thought the kitchen would cook our food so quickly. To make matters worse, because he knew we were upset that our leisurely dining experience was ruined, he never checked back with us to ask how was our meal or would we care for another beverage. I had to flag down a bus boy to ask for our water glasses to be refilled. Had our server asked, we would have told him that the Prime Rib special that 3 of us ordered was the poorest cut of prime rib we ever ate - so tough we couldnt cut it with our knives or chew most of it We ended up leaving half of it on our plates. This is so unlike our other experiences at The Point when we enjoyed salmon, scallops, and the lobster roll - all very high quality and delicious. So heartbroken. This was supposed to be a leisurely meal in a beautiful setting with fantastic food with friends we don't get to see often. So very disappointing and embarrassing.......our friends couldn't believe this was our favorite place.

My visit here was my worst visit in the last 5 restaurants that I went to I went here a month ago with friends and the food was good so I brought new friends the food is so terrible I waited over an hour to get my food and when I got my food my food was wrong cold I don't know what happened to this place in the last month when I was here last but please get your stuff together or I'm not coming back Anybody who reads this place don't order their grouper they don't know how to cook it dried out

A hidden treasure! The mahi-mahi stuffed with crab is amazing. We enjoyed the water views and excellent service.

Amazing sunsets, beautiful restaurant, super nice staff and delicious food! I will be back!
