Fantastic breakfast. Best scrambled eggs I've ever had. No idea what they do that makes them so creamy

Service is very good. Breakfast was simple eggs, sausage, hash browns, English muffin. Nothing to brag about. Typical menu. Outdoor seating. Hostess, wait staff all very pleasant & on top of taking care of the customers.

Ms Ginger

Inefficient and inattentive, customers kept waiting in a que to be seated even with many available tables inside. No outdoor seating available, closptrofobic indoor seating only. No idea about the food.

The fact that the four of us were starving for a really delicious breakfast just after noon made the spotting of the sign a special occurrence. But we had no idea what a special treat lay ahead of us.
I have an affinity for very soft cooked scrambled eggs and Steven (of Dutch decent who took over from his parents who bought the place in 1972) Disseldorp’s chef got it perfect.
I ordered French toast with my eggs. MY plate came with two perfectly cooked slices of French toast that my wife immediately attacked with her fork. She praised the owner for topping the slices with a slight patina of powdered sugar as the whipped butter began to melt and drip down the crust of the piping hot French toast.
On my own, I discovered I was doing it all wrong. I was cutting off small pieces of the toast with the butter and dipping them in my syrup pitcher, unknowingly washing away the butter. My wife handed back my plate and I dabbed my current piece in the butter now melted on my plate and discovered, much to my surprise, the hint of a carmelized (pun intended) sugar glaze that held three times the taste of the maple syrup.
About that time, Steven went by with two plates with huge thin pancakes. Told him I love big pancakes and he told how he makes them just the way I like - very thin batter cooked crispy.
A bit about the ambience... The booths have beautifully painted murals of large scenes each hiding funny little things going on. Very fun to explore.

We visited this place on the recommendation of Barb, the owner of the Quiet Wooded Guest College. A great recommendation. A fast friendly staff and the restaurant had a nice quaint vibe. We were told to try the pancakes and the waffles but customers leaving the restaurant. The waffle is a great, but what you must have is the chicken apple sausage. That was the food highlight of the day. A quick note, it is cash only. The is a Chase ATM a block east and then north.

I love a good brunch spot a s Little Swiss Cafe does not disappoint. The waffle is amazing, it has a bit of malt or some flavoring I can't quite put my finger on. It is one of the best waffles I've had. Get the two egg and hash special then add the waffle for a dollar more. Trust me it is the only deal you'll find within the city limits of carmel-by-the-sea. Also, the corned beef hash is homemade and really delicious.

The food here is insane. It is so good. The pancakes, so thin and honestly the best ive ever had.. The paintings at this restaurant are beautiful yet hilarious with the subtlr additions to the paintings. This restaurant is seriously top notch. Highly recommend this restaurant. Very casual, moderate prices, superb food. Just go and try it for yourself.

If you want a quick bite to eat at Carmel by the ocean, this is a good place. Friendly staff, cute place, and good food. If you go further in the restaurant, make sure to take a good look at the wall paintings, they'll give you a good laugh. It's like playing"I spy" but with a whole wall instead of just a book.

Nothing swiss about it per se. We had brunch here. The service was excellent. The food was too.

The Little Swiss Cafe has been a locals favorite since the dawn of time. Gorgeously light pancakes, homemade blintzes, (homemade everything, really) bottomless coffee that the staff never let you see the bottom of your cup on, beautiful soups, sandwiches, burgers... all brought to you by the most amazing, cheerful, witty, and lightening coordinated breakfast servers in town. Weekends have had lines out the door all day for decades but no matter how many people in your party they always find a way to fit everyone in. The Little Swiss rocks, and rolls!!!
