From Scratch Restaurant

1st time here. Wow! Glad we visited. Definitely coming back. Customer service was awesome! Food was Amaaaaazing! I had the skillet which I didn't take a pic of but I will say it's yumm & so are those potatoes! 😲 omg! The plate that stole the show is the cinnamom roll pancakes! It was NOT heavy. Light, fluffy, frosting was not over done. Chose maple syrup of course && We each had 1 (it was enough) & if I lived close by, I'd order it again! Thanks for the wonderful experience! If we are ever in the area, this is a spot that will forever be on my list.

The food was disappointing. I was really excited because they were on triple Ds but they can’t even cook eggs properly here. I ordered over easy eggs and received uncooked snotty egg whites with it.

Over hyped and I’m starting to wonder what’s up with the high reviews of this place. I had the triple d platter. All of my food was served lukewarm and came suspiciously quick. I suspect it’s not made to order as they claim on the menu.

My biscuits were bland and had a weird texture. The sausage patties were over cooked and tasteless. The chili brisket chunks were inconsistent with some tender pieces mixed with extremely dry pieces. The potatoes and cheese grits were alright but nothing to run home about.

This place can be tricky to find, it's in a rabbit warren of stores and restaurants. It's worth seeking out. The staff are friendly and great with kids. The food was generous and delicious. The corned beef hash was "Texas" style, which I'm assuming means it has large chunks of corned beef, was delicious. The country style potatoes were a hit with the table too.

When your breakfast is delivered and you ordered the Carmel Omelet, the main ingredient being avocado… would you eat this avocado? Black and brown on the sides too. Service was slow. Put on the wait list and forgot about us. Coffee was an hour late. Just not a good day for this restaurant.

I love From Scratch! I usually get their Skillet, Barnyard Wrap, or Cobb salad. Also recommend the baby red potatoes as a side. Generous portions. Prices have gone up a bit but that is understandable with the times.

It can get busy with limited seating inside and on the outdoor patio at high breakfast/lunch times. I usually just order to-go. Very convenient that they've also added online ordering in recent years although not sure the menu includes everything. I saw on their website menu they had a couple kids options available but when I looked to order something online for my daughter I couldn't find them included.

Wish they had longer hours (they close at 2pm) for when you may have those late lunch days.

Food was good and nice large portions. I could only finish one of the egg Benedicts (with turkey and avocado) and potatoes. Daughter had a burger with cross cut fries and wife had vegiburger with a side of beans.
Met a local, Ron Rivera (Coach of Washington and the Panthers) here and he was super nice. Did you know he grew up a Raider's fan? His wife is a big A's fan.
Service here was excellent even though the restaurant was packed!

We got the chorizo omelette, it was good… the cinnamon pancake was okay, not all the hype in my opinion , my favorite was the cheese biscuit.

The hot chocolate is delicious 😋

The omelet is big and dry with zero flavor. The chorizo was burnt, the potatoes were raw.

I kept wondering why so many people were leaving potatoes on their plate because they looked good, then I got my order and quickly realized why.

The biscuits and gravy are actually sausage patties on top of biscuits. No flavor at all.

The concept is nice and the atmosphere is there, but the food is a major fail.

Amazing experience in Carmel-by-the-sea small town. I recommend fruits than potato fries 🍟

Great breakfast, nice service and also had a nice chat with the guests next to us-definitely recommended!
