Camped with toy hauler and rode the jeep paths on my dirtbike. Spectacular scenery and helpful staff. Wifi spotty, but who cares, your here to get away. Nice sketchy part of texas, loved it. Should have stayed longer. Get here and relax, say your drunken uncle paul

The stars are mainly for the front desk /greeting crew, who were most amiable and helpful - even when we shortened our stay and were refunded for a night. Plus convenient location.

No wifi on site, which is not a deal breaker - but for the price - it should be part of the package.

Our site, upon arrival had a trench severe enough such that when backing in, the rear bumper took a bending hit. (Yes, my bad judgment on waving my wife off on guiding my back-up job.) However, upon our request, it was filled with no further problems. Big gratitude shout to Michael. (Q: Why wasn't it just filled in to begin with?)

To further detriment, we were located near the sewage treatment facility and were reminded of that 24/7 by the constant whirring of the electrical pump motor.

That said, the 'resort'location was convenient, at the highway crossroads of highways connecting Big Bend State Park/Terlingua, Alpine and Big Bend National Park. Gas station and convenience store on site.

Not much of interest in the immediate vicinity, but a little bit of exploration revealed an abandoned mine and scenic vistas to the south. Do mind the No Trespassing signs.

In a pinch (the National Park camping was Full and other options were unknown at booking time) this place was good enough for a pit stop, but nothing more.

Nice rv park for being in the desert. Minimal shade. Showers not working during our entire stay. Did ok using compact shower in the camper. 100 plus sites and 4 were occupied. Park was the best of the worst in the area. Nice restaurant, gas station, convenience store, all in 1 building. Staff more concerned over motel residents rather than campers. No showers was a deal breaker, but other rv parks were miserable by comparison.

Full hookups for a decent price. Location is good. Just a few miles from the the big bend national park entrance. Free coffee in the morning was a bonus. The only thing from getting a five star was they charge $2.00 for showers.

We only stayed one night, but the room was clean and comfortable. We were checking in during Spring Break, their crazy busy season, and I was really impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the man working the front desk. They were completely booked, but every time someone came in with out a reservation, he was very courteous, and would even go so far as recommending specific places they could try to stay. I would certainly stay here again. *They have a really good gift shop too!

If you can afford to stay somewhere nicer, please do so. The phone in our room didn't work and they never did anything about it, but give us excuses. Our cellphones didn't work either, so we were worried about not having a phone to use in case of an emergency. Their lobby closes very early. The shower did not have a lot of water pressure and housekeeping did not do a good job of cleaning. She changed the towels (maybe) because I saw the same stains on them. She made the beds - very messy - and threw most of the trash, but did not replace any of the shampoo mini - bottles, clean the mirror, coffee pot or sink. Our window pane was broken and you could see into the room from the outside. We had to find a way to "fix" it on our own. On the positive side, the AC worked well, it was a quiet area, people in the lobby were courteous even after I complained about the phone. There is also a microwave and small refrigerator in the room. If you are not used to desert, keep in mind that you are basically on your own in this town and in Big Bend park. In case of an emergency, the nearest hospital in 90 minutes away.. Everything closes early including shops and restaurants and many cellphones do not work in this area, so be prepared for that.

One of the two worst campgrounds I have stayed in. The place is nasty dirty! Has no paved streets. It is a dust bowl! Water pressure is almost non-existent. Line voltage was low even though it was winter. Can’t imagine what it would be if everyone ran their air conditioners. Water is foul tasting and leaves an alkaline residue on everything! Showers cost $2 for 6 minutes of awful water! Ripoff! Gopher holes everywhere! Place is awful! Never again!!!

This is an older, basic motel within walking distance of fantastic views and right next to a cafe that operates all day on weekends. It's 3 miles from the entrance to Big Bend National Park. Guests have access to a microwave in the game room. Abundant hot water, decent beds, wifi access in the rooms and a TV that gets ABC, NBC, and CBS plus USA and Weather Channel make this modest accommodation a very good deal!

Like most areas in the big band, it is quite dusty. And Shade is a premium. Many of the spaces are sufficiently wide. If the site has been repaired, the electricity is good. The staff in the office are friendly and helpful. It is a good spot for touring the big Bend Ranch State Park or the big Bend national Park. It is also extremely convenient to Terlingua Oldtown. There you may explore the old cemetery or just sit on the porch with the locals and watch sunset on the Chisos Mountains.

We stayed with our small hybrid trailer at the back in the non numbered electric and water sites that are back in only for $34 a night. These are for campers 17 feet and under. These are level and close to the shower/restroom which are older though clean and have plenty of hot water. Showers are $2 in quarters for 6 minutes. At this time of year and mid week it was isolated. I'd say quiet though you have some sort of little power plant making a small continuous background noise you can hear outside, even with your air-conditioned running. There are nice views and it's convenient to visit other areas from this site. Check in was easy, and friendly. Didn't use any other services so can't comment on them.
