Room was very basic for the price, never got new towels, chef never arrived to cook breakfast in the cafe before we needed to go hiking, internet would not work in the room, had to sit in the heat outside the lobby to use it. This was definitely a motel for hotel prices.

First and last time staying here. Called the front desk multiple times with no answer. The rooms were hot. The a/c in both rooms didn't hardly cool the rooms even after running all night. One room was nasty. Bugs in the floor and dust everywhere. The bathroom is very cramped up. Water pressure was terrible and tasted horrible. Old School tv that you had to slap to make work. The AC rattled all night long. I definitely won't be wasting my money here again.

When there are no other choices to stay, this is alright. The rooms, carpet, and seating furniture needs updating. Depending on which room you get, the water pressure can be poor or okay. No ice machines & have to ask for packet of coffee.

This is a review of the RV campground part of the facility, and services related to the campground, not of the motel. First, top reviews to manager Raul Alvino. His attentiveness and customer service were top notch. Similarly, the cashiers at the store and the motel were kind and helpful. The general store's prices are reasonable for its size and genre, and the inventory is surprisingly broad and diverse (for a small store). The availability of a restaurant (closed on Mondays during July & August), laundry room and several restroom areas is nice, as well as a small game room, business center, and community room (part of the motel, but available to campers).
So, why only three stars? Simply because there are many challenges. The restroom is nice enough but ungodly hot... Please add a fan! The majority of the dryers in the laundry room are marked with varying degrees of non-functionality. Our sheets came out stained, I guess from rust in the lines? But signs had warned us that could happen.) Local town residents also use the laundry room so during high season there could be congestion. One day of our stay I had to find a member of the maintenance team to unlock the laundry room at 9 a.m., it should have opened at 7 a.m., but no harm done. Some sites have trees and a little shade, some do not. WiFi and cable don't work or work poorly.

No dish washing station (that I could find). No pool.

A campground water line went out during our stay and we had to change campsites (but appreciated the one-night's credit). A limb on a tree at our site fell, but nothing damaged.

We had trailer electrical problems during our stay; Raul was very helpful in finding a mechanic. He knows the area well.

On the plus side, the location (Terlingua) is the best of the non-National Park options, and I can't imagine doing a visit in Big Bend in July without AC... Which is your only option if camping in the park.

Honestly I didn't expect much but wow ... what a mess. The room was clean when we checked in but after that we might as well have been sleeping outside. The desk clerk had all the right excuses but nothing towards correcting the situation now. We looked at several places while we were there and yes there are better ... lots better for the same $. I will stay there again if necessary because we love BB but I'll look ac lot closer next time. I should have known something was up when we were able to book something at the last minute. Shame on me. You have been warned.

Rude staff. I went to the desk and said I was checking out. The man told me he's not a mind reader. Ok. We tent camped. Honestly, we only stayed here because Big Bend sites were full. Our tent is out in a dusty field. The walk to the bathroom is looonnnggggg. No wifi out there, but in the bathroom and game room it works well. The bathroom has showers $2 for 6 minutes. Water is hot, good pressure.

Can i give a below zero rating? Let's just say we forfeited our deposit and left because of the way we were treated by Larry, the camp host during our registration process. After a conversation with the owners we still left even after they offered to comp our 3 day stay.
Stay here if you want but there are nicer places closer to the park.

It is a nice well-kept, clean campground with friendly people. They have a small gift shop at check-in for hats, shirts, coffee cups, etc. They have a gas station and small grocery store on site, and they sell propane on site. There is an amazing general store/grocery store (Cottonwood General Store) a mile down the road with everything you need, including alcohol, groceries, and camping supplies, at a good price. It is easy to get in and out of. It is only a couple of miles from the entrance to Big Bend. National Park. There is an interesting restaurant, Starlight Theater Restaurant and Bar, just down the road a bit. They have a few cabins and a small motel if you friends without a camper. We will be back next winter.

We really enjoyed our experience here. It’s basic lodging but considering options in the area, it’s all you can really ask for and has everything you need. The office staff was super friendly and welcoming. On our next trip to Big Bend we will make sure to stop here again!

I’ve been staying here 17 years. Mainly because of the great location. However it has really deteriorated. The bathrooms, carpet, paint, linens etc all desperately need updating. Our towels were nothing more than tattered rags. This place is a money machine that the current owners have seriously neglected. Shame on them.
