This place was amazing!!! Atmosphere, food and prices!!! A must try, be ready for a little wait but I promise you'll lobe it as much as my family and I!!

The Sunflower Bakery and Cafe was delightful! The food was delicious, and they served large portions. The cookie from the bakery was oversized, but it was only $0.92! The crab cakes were full of crab, not breading like most crab cakes are. The burgers were huge, and the fries were crispy and tasty. And the service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive, sweet and patient with my daughter and nephew, and accommodating, even though we were there until well past their closing time (I think we made our way out of there about half an hour past 5). There were others there too, and they didn't rush them out. All in all, an excellent experience, and I will come again the next time I'm in Galveston.

Just happened upon this wonderful little place, not that far from The Strand. The food was delicious, and I was very tempted to purchase some of the baked goods. Definitely recommend for breakfast.

Diane's review:
I had the Fish Tacos, made with Salmon, lightly coated and fried in bite-sized pieces, cabbage slaw, and an avocado spread. This was a new take in fish tacos, and it worked! The salmon flavor was not covered up by the very light coating, and it was cooked perfectly so the salmon stayed moist and yummy! The avocado spread was very tasty, in fact I should have asked for more.🙂 The cabbage slaw was not the typical, as it had no dressing with it, therefore, more of the avocado spread would have brought it up just a notch. Enjoyed the lightness of the tacos, in fact I ate all 3 that were on the plate. It was served with French fries that were very good, but I didn't eat much of them to save room for the tacos.😋 Definitely worth the trip!
I had the salmon BLT with bacon, lettuce, tomato and a herb mayo. As you can tell if you look at the picture, the salmon was huge. Probably more fish than most restaurants will give you for a dinner serving. The salmon was very tender and perfectly cooked. The veggies were fresh and the homemade bun was very good. The only thing I would recommend is toasting the bun.
Definitely a place to return to!
Recommended two thumbs-up 👍 👌

The service was great & the food was delicious! Fresh tortilla crusted red snapper was amazing. Grilled cinnamon roll you must try!

After reading all the rave reviews we were excited to try the Sunflower Bakery & Cafe, especially since my gf saw their cinnamon rolls and the pictures made it look amazing. Unfortunately, it seems that while the service is quick and attentive, the food is mediocre at best. The cinnamon roll came out lukewarm and not hot and melty like she expected. Thankfully the waitress took it back to get reheated, but that didn't seem to make it much better. It just tasted like an ok cinnamon roll, nothing too special. It probably we pre-made or made earlier since the bottom seemed like it was toasted on a skillet due to the crisp.

I got the little breakfast to gauge a spread of their breakfasts, and that was a really mixed bag. The scrmabled eggs were eggs, hard to mess up eggs, but nothing to write home about. The sausage on the other hand was very good, nice and flavorful. The potatoes that came with it were also very good. I opted for the biscuit over a bread, and that seems like a mistake. At best it was lukewarm, at worst, the top just below the surface was a little cold. I suspect it was just microwave heated, and not heated enough.

I have to say we were pretty disappointed, one would expect a hot breakfast to actually be hot. It's a sad day when one can expect McDonald's for more consistency and an actual "hot" breakfast versus a dining in experience.

The wait staff was great, but the back of the house dropped the ball.

Breakfast was amazing. Long wait but worth it. The potatoes were my favorite part of the breakfast. Will be back to try the French toast as they were out

Came right after our cruise and the food was delicious! We did have to wait for a bit to be seated since it was a busy Saturday morning but it was worth the wait ! I enjoyed the Sunflower Smash and my husband liked his bloody Mary! We both enjoyed the eggs Benedict very much! We would definitely recommend

Crowded, but in a good way. The service was excellent. This restaurant has a great feel for a breakfast/lunch place while on a beach vacation. They made a beautiful looking cappuccino. The grandkids enjoyed their pancakes. The kids had a couple of basic breakfasts (eggs, meat, potatoes), chicken and biscuits and a steak salad. My wife had the crab cakes and I had corn cakes. Everything was delicious. We took some cookies to go. They were also delicious.

Been there back to back days cause it was so good. Everyone is so kind and the service was great. Acosta was our server the second time and he was personable and on it. The food came out quick. The food is amazing!! Always tastes fresh and light. Potatoes are amazing, fresh and tasty fruit, French toast is light and amazing, bacon is cooked just right. High recommendation!
