Smitty's Cafe and Bakery

We went one time and the food and bands that were playing were fantastic! The chicken fried steak I ordered was a half order and it and the sides that came with it were excellent!!!! But... the one thing we had that wasn't good was the service. Several of us at different times tried to find a waitress. The service was horrible.

Great place to pick up pies, they are made with real butter and ingredients.

Come hungry! What a burger menu. I had the Chicken Fried Steak. WOW! so delicious, but I couldn't finish it. Even there little bitty salad bar was great. All very fresh ingredients. Ima coming back!

Cute place but waited an hour to get food. Other people that came in after us received their food before us. The Wisconsin grilled cheese that I ordered was supposed to have thick bread. It did not, thin bread and one side was burnt. The fries were soggy. The children’s burger was also burnt, both the meat and the toasted bread. Don’t recommend the place.

Been here many times for a burger, etc and they've now completely changed everything from their menu which is bigger with some really good sounding things and prices which went wayyyy up.. to their plates, that are now big deep baskets that are just awkward, bulky and inconvenient on the small tables. The food was decent at best, the waitress was decent at best, and more then anything I was just unimpressed by this "Cafe" and it's changes unfortunately. Lost a customer in me.

Great burgers and various desserts. All the employees are very polite. When you go there you have to try their delicious fried mac-n-chz; it is really good. I also like their wooden tables. It gives it a good small town cafe atmosphere.

Breakfast until 3 pm. Fresh ingredients. Fast Service. Clean restrooms.

Amazing place with the best breakfast in town! Their sausage is the best I've ever had.

This place has amazing food and down home hospitality. We loved their homemade bread and omelets for breakfast. Everything was made from scratch! Friendly servers and even got a chance to chat with the owner. Reasonable prices and fantastic selection of food options.

Smitty's returned to their original site from years ago; they are back on Hwy. 290, west of Brenham, near Lange Lake Road. It's a laid-back atmosphere with Cordon Bleu cooking (see her story on the back of the menu).

A group of ladies (myself included) are regulars there. The food is wonderful and the desserts are simply scrumptious. Enjoy the cheerful atmosphere and friendly service.
