I come to this place all the time and my family loves it. The coffee is great and so are the employees. They are helpful if you aren't familiar with coffee or are in the mood to try something different. They can whip up almost any unique favor or combination you can ask for. They serve more than just coffee. They have a wide variety of beverages, like alcohol, shaved ice or specialty teas, etc. The environment also nice with plenty of places to hide on the inside for us antisocial people. There's also outside seating with fires and heaters to keep you warm. If want to relax there's even a nice stream to sit near. Its a great little spot. The parking lot is a pain in the butt to deal with but thats it.

I wish I could give this place a good review cause it seems to be a real cool chill place but the guy took for ever to take our order and make it. made our drinks cold instead of hot than to correct it he steamed it, but there was ice in it so it became watery. Long story short coffee not good but prices are cheaper than Starbucks.

The coffee was just ok. The ambiance is the thing to come for. It seems like a great place to hang out. There are fire pits and games in a large outdoor space. When we were there there was a pumpkin patch too.

Such a cute little coffee shop! They have an open room with a few kids toys and books with beanbags. My toddler really enjoyed it. I wish there had been a puppet area or some other toys that were not all beaten up. However, The coffee was great and priced about the same as other local shops. I was slightly disappointed at the menu or lack there of. They do not bake the treats themselves there from a local high school that drops them off once a week. So our cookies were very hard and priced high. I loved how welcoming & clean the coffee shop seemed. And the fact that all the books are available for purchase or you can read and put them back! Hope it sticks around!

Lovely staff and great coffee! Got there just as the cookies came out of the oven and it was heavenly :) also the outdoor seating is really nice. Very pretty. Looks like something out of a movie

Love the gingerbread coffee, s'mores cookie and atmosphere. I am a little disappointed about the artificial snow feature. They weren't sure when they were going to do it. The attendant told me to call on a Friday so I did twice and got no answer. I was hoping to treat my neices there with Cocoa, treats, and artificial snow.

In reviewing the Second Wave it is important to have some background. I gave it my top rating not in competition with other establishments but rather for it's high quality and it's worthwhile mission. First and foremost, it is a function of the ARC which is a nationwide charitable organization directed at helping our disabled whether from birth or accidental issues. Profit is not their major objective but helping the less fortunate citizens of our society in always is. That said, the Second Wave is a very pleasant, quiet, clean, comfortable and simply appointed beverage shop and reading room. They offer drinks, hot and cold, ranging from flavored water to lattes with plenty in between. They offer an array of used books to either purchase, at thrift store prices, or to read in house for free. They welcome folks to simply come in and read or study at no charge. They have both indoor and outdoor seating in a low traffic somewhat off-the-road location. There are restrooms and even a small conference room. There is nothing pretentious about the place. It is just nice. Try it! You'll like it.

Super cute coffee shop! Today was my first time visiting & I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Lexington! The staff, Venice and Dominique, were awesome! Very friendly. Venice took our order, super fun personality. Dominique took us on a tour of the building, in and out. They were both great! The music playing overhead was also a plus, I’m listening to the pandora station they had on as I head back to Charleston 🤣

Absolutely love this little place great prices the staff is very friendly and nice. The reading nook is my absolute favorite spot you can go in there with your coffee and look at the books or read a book they also have amazing activities outside and inside hopefully after the pandemic they'll get more things back inside for things to be done with children like they used to have
