The Coffee Shelf

Just getting off a 48hr shift and I REALLY wanted a mocha. Also needed it to be decaf. These guys were open at 7am on a Sunday and I couldn't be more appreciative! Also grabbed a new book (not that I need yet another book) to enjoy with my decaf mocha. Thank you again!

Always delicious, very nice variety of food, drinks and dessert. Also a huge fan of the Harry Potter gear and the surplus of books to enjoy while there. The staff is beyond outstanding. A great morning/lunch date spot for my wife and I when we are in the area!

I didn't eat ,so can't speak on it. Had Chai tea was okay need to dbl.the bag. N a Carmel latte was good. Lots of books to buy n read.

While visiting I stumbled upon this cute coffee shop and book store in one! It was so cute and the staff was awesome! The chai tea latte was amazing!

Update 12/16/22:

It has been a while since my last visit… The young person with a mask definitely gave the vibe of being inconvenienced by having to take our orders. This is after we watched an older man give his order and attempt to be cheery after having informed us he had just left his wife’s grave after placing a wreath there. The young lady, Sam, who he attempted to share a joke with seemed annoyed at having to interact with a customer. It’s the Christmas season and it definitely was not jolly at the Coffee Shelf today.

This is the best coffee shop in the Chapin area. They have great drinks and food choices as well as awesome book offerings. I highly recommend stopping in for your coffee needs.

Love this place! I favor the "Hermione" and "soul surfer" and love that this place has a reading nook vibe. I visit frequently just to sit and read and find it very relaxing. I'm thankful we have a reading friendly coffee shop like this in Chapin. I only wish there was a bit more lounge seating suitable for reading but luckily I've rarely been without a couch spot for reading yet. They also have excellent seasonals (the apple pie chai is simply incredible and the London fog is great for a change of pace). They also do freshly ground pour overs (although I try to order those when it's more chill as it's time consuming to make and puts the barista in a stressful spot).

The Coffee Shelf has amazing, freshly brewed coffees - hot & cold, pastry & bakery assortments, smoothies & drinks, bookstore assortment, handmade pottery, & a few miscellaneous stationary items... My favorite drink to order is the Large Iced Vanilla Latte and I always ask them to make it with half & half and to add an extra pump of vanilla syrup to it! This drink always makes me happy and being able to get it from The Coffee Shelf in Chapin makes me happy! Have had the chance to try several different pastries, and enjoyed each of them. I feel like they are maybe a little bit on the expensive side, but when I get my Iced Vanilla Latte, it is always well worth the cost! Yummy!

Quaint little coffee shop. Went on a Sat. Afternoon and it was packed. It was full of teens doing what looked like school work. There are regular tables and some armchairs to sit in. There was 3 teens working the counter and they were moving and getting orders filled pretty quickly. Don't know if I would spend time inside due to all the kids and my love of peace & quite but, a must stop for the coffee and smoothies. My 12 yo loved the atmosphere and asked if he could come study there.😆

There is a lot of love that went into this little shop! Chapin doesn’t have Starbucks but we do have great local business owners like the Coffee Shelf. Coffee will not disappoint!

I come here at least a couple times a week. the coffee is great. the staff has always been great (although a few of my favorites went off to college or onto new adventures) I have always had amazing service. It's by far the best coffee place in Chapin.
