The Coffee Shelf always makes me happy! I always leave feeling better than when I entered…from the friendly staff to the delicious house coffee to the fancy drinks. I love how they accommodate me even when I’m going “sugar free/no fat”. Absolutely favorite place in Chapin! Great place to hang out with friends!

Great, fast service from super pleasant staff. Selection of used books and nice ambience. The drinks were exceptional. Great experience.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a prettier coffee …. 😂 this is The Katniss Everdeen, a cherry and cinnamon latte, from their Library Character Coffee menu!

📚 They have bookcases with a variety of selections if you’d like to read while enjoying your beverage… and you can trade a book of your own if you’d find something you’d like to take with you.

This is my favorite coffee place ever. I wish they would expand to more locations. The coffee is the best coffee I've ever had and even when I try new drinks and flavors I'm never disappointed. Their bakery items are also delicious. I've introduced this place to many friends and family members and it is now their favorite place, too.

My first time there felt rush to order. The lady gave me no suggestions and when my coffee was made literally 30 seconds later she sets it on the counter directly in front of me and yelled HOUSE COFFEE! as if she didn't just take my order. Call me sensitive but this is no way to attract new regular customers. There are too many places that sale coffee

I went to get a coffee here on Sunday 5/21 at about 9:30am. I’ve been here plenty of times with a great experience, but what I saw yesterday was unacceptable.
A couple in front of me was short a couple dollars for their order, they asked to switch the drinks to a smaller size so they would have enough $$$. The young lady working the register treated them like garbage because of this. She immediately got rude with them and then when handing the change back literally threw it in the customers hands and the change went all over. The young lady at the register did not say anything to the customer after throwing their money and then turned to her co-workers and asked them to switch to the register.
I’ve never seen a customer put down and treated like that for anything.

The cutest little coffee shop and bookstore! I love how all of the specials are named after a literary character. The coffee and tea are always amazing and the fresh baked goods are a welcomed bonus.

The Coffee Shelf is a great place to hang out and cozy up with a good book and a cup of hot coffee. When we entered the shop we first noted the shelf of books written by all local authors- I love all things local and its great to see local businesses and people supporting eachother.
They also had used books, and a fun "take a book, leave a book" shelf. Brilliant idea.
All the specialty drinks were named after books and characters which just adds to the charm here ~
My husband is head over heels for the Charlie Brown (a peanut butter latte), I loved loved their matcha latte with lavender, and the Chai tea latte was perfect. This is a place we will definitely frequent every time we're in town.

I’ve never had a bad experience here and they alway make amazing coffee. The staff is always extremely helpful if i wanna try something knew. All my friends and family love this place.

Well, this place definitely earns 5 stars for food AND service.

I asked for something cold and caffeinated. Girl behind the counter suggested white mocha and salted caramel smoothie. It has 3 shots of caffeine. I really like it because it's not sugary sweet. Perfect for a hot summer day.

The apple strudel and the cheese danish are the best that I had in a long time. Good pastry like this is hard to find. Not sugary. Not oily. Not decadent. Just simply delicious.

I'm very glad that I found such a nice place during the long drive.
