My partner and I LOVE this coffee shop!! The owner is an absolute sweetheart. She makes all the breads and cookies from scratch and has a few gluten free options as well. She's a joy to visit with and we ended up going back our second day in Newport just to visit...well and to get the hot cocoa. If you're in Newport you should absolutely stop in!

The most outrageously expensive coffee and pastries I’ve ever come across. My husband and I travel a lot and I was stunned when she said $25 for two iced coffees and a slice of bread. I paid what she asked since it was my fault for not checking beforehand too, but it’s laughable how expensive the prices are at this place. It wasn’t even that good. My husband even went back to check the prices after I told him because he thought for sure I had to have been charged incorrectly. Nope! Just a rip off! The location is great and the place itself is cute, but not worth the money. Go to Kaffeology down the street.

Coffee was ok, but definitely not worth $12 for two smalls that were each about 6 ounces. Not sure how the owner, who was working, came up with her pricing. No breakdown of the pricing was provided even on the receipt. I did overhear her say while waiting to order that she had to pay a lot for cups on her last order, so I guess she's making up for it. She asked me if I wanted a lid, so I'm assuming that was an upcharge. I understand times are tough, but be upfront about your pricing.

Amazing coffee, friendly owner, highlighted on the food network …. Worth every penny! Glad you reopened after closing your first shop!

Went there last week since by the photos it looked like a cute place in a nice area. I ordered an iced latte which cost me $9. It was actually supposed to be in a smaller cup but she put it in a larger cup which I think was maybe 16oz at the most. Regardless, the drink was not good at all. I ended up throwing it away and mobile ordering from Starbucks. Should've looked at the reviews prior to going.

Felt inclined to check the ratings on this place after my husband told me he paid 20 dollars for two waters and a small redbull and wasn’t overly shocked to see that this is the general trend here. When he mentioned the total it was quite a while later and specifically said he felt like the owner swindled him—which funny enough there’s a completely identical phrase used in a previous review. We definitely could have said never mind and left after we heard the total since it wasn’t a coffee drink or something the owner had to make so that’s on us, but I figured it may be helpful to put out (another) warning that this place has astronomically high prices. Views are wonderful though and the outdoor seating in this area was really a nice Newport experience.

$18 for a large iced coffee and a pound cake. Owner charged us $0.95 for flavored syrup. When we asked if that was the correct price, she justified it by saying she was featured on the Food Network and whatnot. I understand the rent must be high to be on the water like that but that’s outrageous!! Mediocre coffee and food, the pricing and other details are written out on cardboard. Definitely do not recommend.

I ordered a flavored iced latte with almond milk and it was more than $11! I’ve never paid that much for a latte and I’ve had them in NYC and Europe. Sadly, it wasn’t that good and I ended up throwing it away. I will say the view is amazing and I heard someone say the pastry they ordered was very good. I was going to grab a rice crispy treat but it was $6. Everything is overpriced. I went and ordered another latte at kaffeology down the street and it was delicious!

I hate to leave a negative review of small business, but like another reviewer said, I feel haunted by the prices here. $45 for 2 pastries, a water, an iced coffee, iced latte (also didn’t hear/see a shot pulled as another reviewer mentioned). Everything was average and I would have been happy to pay $25. I hope they reconsider the pricing, I understand it’s an expensive resort town but still...

Delicious coffee, delicious food, incredible views & amazing service. This is located right on the waterfront at the end of Bowen's wharf. Alyssa (the owner) always has a smile on her face. Prices are more than fair given the location. You want a cheap muffin with no views? Go to Dunkins. You want to sit on the pier and watch the yachts come and go? Check out Coffee Grinder
