The Cafe on Hawk Creek

Don't even bother with this place! This place was HIGHLY a recommended to us. Lack of staff and clarity of business hours are non-existent. As several had said, we were also turned away. Their web page says take out until 9pm. However, upon arriving at 7:35, they were no longer taking orders to go! Really?! Since this is the only "restaurant" in town, I'd think they would fully take advantage of the season and make their $$$$ while they can. Nope, turned away, no apology, no nothing. Update the webpage and turn off your outside sign if you are not going to serve food. Poor excuse for a business, IMO, sadly...so much opportunity to be great.

Literally always have a problem with this place every year. Staff are incredibly rude, hours are never updated or accurate. They close early or the day unannounced. Last time we were even able to eat here the food was not up to par compared to the price, but since we stay up the hill in Neskowin, it's convenient to eat here, but it's nearly impossible every time. There needs to be some competition with friendly staff and good food for sure.

Great place for good food and a nice atmosphere in Neskowin. It is also worth the drive if you are staying nearby, such as in Pacific City. Unfortunately, they were not serving their wood fired pizza while we were there. They are known for their pizza and we were looking forward to it. Like many places, they are short on staff and are looking for another pizza chef. Anyhow, Emily was holding down the fort and was doing an amazing job at that. She was seating folks, taking orders, serving orders, busing tables, bartending and answering phones/taking to-go orders! She deserves a raise. I watched her personally check every order before serving it or letting it go out the door and on several occasions she fixed things that were not right before the customer ever saw their order. The food was great, the service was exceptional.

Good, but a bit crusty at the edges. Clever cuisine, breaded fish finger food. I came during a very busy weekend and the staff, front of house and back were stretched, catering to the takeout deliveries. For some reason the staff bussing doesn't use a bucket to clear tables, and the kitchen was ineffective rinsing the oysters. But the fried cod that was formed like a 7-11 Tornado and the theater of the kitchen made up for it.

Food was ok but pretty expensive and pretty small portions that were missing multiple things the menu listed. Very rude "general manager" that was slamming stuff around setting up our table. The tables were not wiped down and had to get 3 cups of water to not have hair or a floaty in it. Extra items were added to the bill that we didn't order, they did remove them though. It wasn't the greatest.

You’re paying for the convenience of the location. Tourist trap. Our waitress a few months ago said she’d check if I could sub the romaine for spring mix in the salad I wanted and she said she’d check. She didn’t come back until our food was delivered and the lettuce was swapped. The check came and that’s when I found out it was a $5 up charge foe the swap. For butter lettuce. Absolutely ridiculous. The food was just okay overall, but that surprise was lame.

If you want pizza, be sure to call before you arrive to make sure they haven't run out We got there Sunday evening around 5:00 (ok, it was Memorial Day Weekend) after driving a distance. When seated, were informed by waitress that they were all out of pizza crust so no more pizza. However, pizzas that were take-out ordered were flowing fine. Hard to believe that all those take-out orders were pre-ordered early in day (maybe they were), but so so frustrating to watch take-out order after take-out order of pizzas being wood-fired and picked up.

Ordered other food which was fine, not the best, but fine. Server, while kind, was totally harried.

Best wood fired Margherita pizza I've ever had and all around great food, great atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings and beach. Also, Scoops ice cream van with Tillamook ice cream outside the Cafe is a nice delicious touch 😋
