The Cafe on Hawk Creek

Adorable place to sit down and enjoy a beautiful scene with a thoughtful selection of menu items. Particularly enjoyed their lavender flavoring in my lemon drop.

Thank you Hawk Creek Cafe for hosting our Vanda Health team two nights in a row under the big red tent. Our team @vandahealth @canyonrimassistedliving @adaraoaks and @elitecare enjoyed our first night ordering directly off the menu. As usual, the truffle cheese bread, spinach dip, and steamer clams were a hit. The main course was pretty basic with several staff ordering sandwiches, burgers, and pasta. Night 2 was even better. I prearranged 7 pizzas, a house salad for each team member, and 5 orders of truffle cheese bread. Everything was set up with salads arranged at each seat for our group of 18. The truffle bread was ready for a quick nibble before the pizzas came and drink orders happened pretty succinctly thereafter. Drinks and laughter were had by all--and, everyone enjoyed dipping the wonderful artisan woodfired pizza crust in honey. The new Executive Chef Max, came out to introduce himself to our group with his cheery smile and carefree spirit. He shared a bit about his life, future for the Cafe, and enjoyment in curating a new menu set to launch in February 2023. As a resident of Neskowin proper, Max seems to be a great fit for this community. Thank you for hosting my wonderful team and making our event a success. Sincerely, Raeann

Good pizza. Good beer. Good service.

15 min wait is actually an hour. You can get appetizers but you won't get plates to eat them on. Needed to go wash my hands before eating but I can't get out of my chair because the table next to me is so close that when someone sat down their back is rubbing my right shoulder. They brought the 2 kids their pizza and they finished eating. Then the 4 adults had kids ready to go with no food. They apparently had to "heat up" the clam chowder. So 3 adults get their clam chowder and finish eating and then I get mine. Now everyone is ready to go and I haven't had one bite of food. The waiter warns me it's hot but ... kids. So I dig in to discover stone cold clam chowder. Like Colder than if it had just been dumped out of a soup can. It was cold but I was starving. If it had been good I may have asked them to warm it up. So yeah, SUPER DISAPPOINTING! Leaving here hungry, upset AND still out $80. If you go here leave a lot of time and only order pizza.

The positive: food was pretty good and the view on the patio was lovely. The service was very friendly, HOWEVER, either the kitchen or server training is severely lacking. If another server steals one of your table's entrees, you need to make sure the kitchen re-makes it right away. It's why the phrase "on the fly" was created. Instead, I watched my husband finish his chicken sandwich and fries as slowly as he could (they were cold when they came out) while I waited 20 minutes for my very simple spinach salad and our server avoided us. I then asked her what was going on and her response was that the kitchen hadn't put it up yet. At that point, it's the server's job to make fixing that screw-up top priority. Instead, we watched all the tables around us get their meals while my salad sat at the back of the line to be made. As a former server, I was insanely frustrated. I had them down to 2 stars in mind during this madness, but they did earn one back by apologizing profusely and taking the salad and one of our beers off the tab. Just bummed, because the place had so much potential but turned into a negative experience.

Some things were a little pricy, but EVERYTHING was excellent. Seafood Mac n' Cheese was great and the honey/garlic/cheese bread was tasty. Hannah can read minds, and it seems like she knows what you want before you do - so, the service was excellent, with a great sense of humor. Everything was clean and the place had a great feel.

And Hannah will go above and beyond, even running to the highway when you forget your Credit Card - she is amazing.

Stopped here for dinner and it was definitely the place to be after a sunny day on the beach. Busy busy. We were seated pretty quickly & recieved pretty prompt service. Our server was polite. The clam steamers were sandy, avoid them at all costs! 😶 But the pizza made up for it. The crust was amazing!

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to eat here at all because they closed early. The manager (I think) had told us earlier in the day that they would be open all evening for take out orders. When we stopped by at 6.45pm the door was locked and lights were out, despite their hours supposedly being until 8pm. We went to the Trading Company for food (great place, by the way!) and heard other customers saying they had also been surprised to find the Cafe closed. I get that staffing is an issue, however better communication would really help avoid frustrating people.

Absolutely wonderful so where can I start. Hands down one of the best Spanish coffees there is in the whole state of Oregon and certainly along the coast. The Caesar salad with the grilled chicken wonderful. And the Caesar dressing couldn't have been better. The burgers are fantastic and the pizza is brick oven clearly one of the best in the area for 50 miles at least. Words can hardly explain how wonderful this place was. Literally everything we ordered was great. Also met others it is such a laid-back kind of place. As well they had somebody playing a guitar and doing a little music. Food awesome entertainment a pleasure and nice people dining around you what more could you ask for. Would obviously highly recommend this place.
